A Few More Perks
Some of these perks are shared somewhat with Windows Explorer (if you have Windows XP) but many of them go an extra step. Here are just a couple of them that a lot of people will find interesting. Dopus is really like finding Christmas presents in the back of the closet. You constantly run into great little goodies.
Pop Up Thumbnails
If you do a lot of image handling, you may prefer to work in DETAILS view instead of image view. Unfortunately, if you want to see a visual representation of the image, you either have to use the thumbnail view or open the thing. In Dopus v8, you can HOVER an image file in details view and get all the camera data as well as a quick thumbnail.

Quick Folder Size Calculation
In Windows Explorer, if you hover over a folder, eventually you'll get a pop up that tells you how big all the files are inside. If its too big, it will simple bow out and say "Greater than xxxMB". Dopus goes a step further and populates a column with the information - and it seems a lot quicker than Windows Explorer.

Multiple Folder Creation
How many times have you set up a folder with a STACK of subfolders (like folders A-Z for your music or folders named after the destinations of your last vacation) and sat there for 20 minutes hitting INSERT or clicking NEW->FOLDER creating these intricate collections of folders. Dopus allows you to create multiple folders at one time with a comma-separated list. Doesn't sound handy - but when you need it, you will be damn glad its there.
Advanced File Select/Deselect
Sometimes you have folders just PACKED with files. While SELECT ALL/NONE is handy, it would even be MORE handy if you could use a DETAILED wildcard/expression builder to select the files you really want. Perhaps you want to select all MP3 files with bitrate of 128 or less, but only those that have ID3 tags. Maybe you're a wiz with RegEx - use that! Try that with Windows Explorer. Dopus makes it easy.

Generate File Lists
Dopus v6 allowed you to print folder lists to the printer, text file, or even the clipboard. You can now generate file lists from the listers. Just highlight what you want to make a list of, and you can copy it right to your clipboard. You can say "I'd never need that". Its amazing the uses that you come up with when you know its there.
Breadcrumb Navigation
At the top of all listers, it shows the path to the current folder you're browsing. In Dopus v8 you can now click ANY part of that path and return directly to that folder. It beats the heck out of making a trip to the Folder Tree or hitting the UP button a bunch of times. Bravo!
Last Folder Accessed
One of the biggest complaints that my wife had using Dopus v6 was when she went BACK a folder, it would lose the location in the folder list, and she didn't remember where she'd been. Dopus now highlights (or flashes - or nothing - depends on your config) the LAST folder you were at when you hit the left arrow or UP button to go back a folder. In the example below, I navigated all the way down the "A" folder file structure, then came all the way back - the A folder flashes in the MUSIC folder here because that's where I came from last.

SMTP Service
You can quickly send files out of Dopus without going through your email client. Once you fill in some SMTP details about your ISP, you can easily send files from within Dopus. Most people will probably elect to use their standard email SEND TO RECIPIENT, but this is a nice feature if you are a guest on the machine you're working on or it turns out to be faster this way.
I could sit here all day long and talk about the little tidbits scattered through Dopus. But we have bigger fish to fry. Let's take a look at Flat View - something that can make your life so much easier...
