Looking back to the last version ...

Fact is ... I still have a full review of Directory Opus 6 online. It would be kinda silly to recap it all here, so - before you continue reading about Directory Opus 8, I recommend you read the V6 review because I'm not going to overly cover familiar ground.

Directory Opus v6 Review

In a nutshell, Directory Opus 6 is:

• Windows Explorer on Steroids
• 100% configurable - right down to the button and menus (including its own scripting language)
• A function FTP client
• A robust file search tool
• A decent file viewer (this was before XP)
• Basic archive (ZIP/RAR/etc) support
• System Wide Hotkeys Tool
• TONS of little gems scattered throughout the app
