    Silver NES System. WTF?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Silver-Game-Syst...QQcmdZViewItem

I know some of you are probably gonna hate me for posting an Ebay link, we all know how reliable Ebay can be. But, can this be true? I never knew about this NES unit, or why they made it. Apparently, this will play all the NES games, and comes with the usual 2 controllers and other accessories, and we don't have to worry about the blinking red light.....uh huh, seeing is believing, Ebay.

    Your thoughts?

Wonder if this would make a good Bits and Bytes submission?

    I know why, dude. It's a FAMICLONE.

Of course, that is a Shaq Fu-ing STEAL for 37 bucks!

Wow... if that doesn't scream "Rip-off from China!" I don't know what does.

Hey, at least it seems not be a NES-on-a-chip kind of deal. It's good for us folks with NES carts still lying around somewhere.

Hmmm, their website says COMING SOON... suspicious.

They have these for $39 at the local once a year video game show/conventions usually with boatloads of used NES carts below them. I played a few games on it and they work and feel pretty decent considering they are just bootleg hardware. I was tempted once until I remembered I have my Dreamcast hooked up.

I got one someplace, I can't remember where, a few years ago for $19.99. They work pretty damn good considering how cheap they are. I have the original NES controllers connected to it because the ones they come with are just plain crap.

I remember someone's show mentioning this product and how the NES Patent had ran out so they could legally sell them.

I know I've been in the market for a famiclone. I just aquired a copy of the japanese Transformers game, and Im looking for somthing to test it on. I dont know if I should trust the famiclones at my local flea market or not. The Messiah looks nice, but its a bit pricey to me.

Didn't the Messiah end up being a piece of crap though?

I went ahead and purchased this Yobo FC Game Console. Forked over about 30 bones, and reviewed it for the show. Worst system I can possibly play. While you can plug in your regular old NES controllers, the sound is almost like it was when the Nesticle emulator first appeared. Anyone remember how badly the Nesticle emulated Nintendo game sounds? Some of the games appear glitchy, probably cause the games are old.

I would say find out the verdict on the next show, but f**k it. Don't buy it (ha, yeah, not like anyone was going to). Would make for something interesting to talk about on RGR, though.
