I think I may have added an extra step in my process, but I was under the gun to get something to the engineers. I'll explain what I did, why and my plans. Shoot holes into it at will.
I had footage on a miniDV, No PC software. I managed to scare up a Mac w/ iDVD and create DVDs from the DVs. Turned out pretty good for a $80 iLife add-on.
The end result will be a Windows format video file, AVI or WMV. I want to rip the DVD video since at this point, the quality is pretty good. I'll be getting timecodes from these engineers to pull the files.
So- what DVD ripper for the PC can do the job? I have Imtoo DVD ripper but the quality is suspect for the file sizes it spits out.
Question #2... what would YOU have done. You have a miniDV camera, an old Dazzle, a Mac with iDVD and 12 hours.
EDIT- 3 DV tapes... 10 min, 55 min and 50 min for that 12 hours.
