In the Netherlands still no Wii in sight! Similar to the UK situation I guess. From what I understood they are very readily available in Germany though. Almost makes me want to hop in a car, drive for say 2.5 to 3 hours and get me a Wii from Germany.

Well, add me to the list of Wii owners on the board. I had been leaning toward the Xbox 360, but decided to go with a Wii for 2 reasons:
1. The Wii is still in hot demand so I knew that if I were going to try it, now would be the time, as I'll probably be able to sell it for about as much as I bought it for if I decide not to keep it.
2. The 360 is just too f**king expensive right now. If I'm going to buy this thing, I at least wanted to try out the cheaper alternative. I really don't want to own 2 next-gen consoles.
As for how I got it, that's kind of a funny story ...
Went to visit family in a small town in Georgia. My 13yo cousin had rented Mortal Kombat Armageddon for Xbox. While we were playing that, I mentioned to him that I had been looking around for a Wii in Austin and how hard they were to find. He said "Well, they have some here at Gamestop." Hearing this, I was surprised to that there was a Gamestop in this little town and even more surprised that they had Wiis. So we call them up and turns out they had just sold the last one. Then he says "Maybe Wal-Mart has some", so we called them and sure enough, they had a few in stock. We immediately drove up there and I bought a Wii, an extra nunchuck controller, and a Wiimote that comes with the WiiPlay game. Seems that the Wii is easier to find in po-dunk towns than in bigger cities.
We took it back to his house and played Wii Sports for about 4 hours and then had a run through of WiiPlay. Then we hooked the Xbox back up, because I really wanted to play more MKA while I had access to it, not knowing at the time that the Wii version was just right around the cornerI don't really have an opinion of it yet since I have spent so little time with it. Wii Sports was pretty fun, but I am anxious to try out more games, which I will probably do this weekend. I am a little concerned though about the accuracy of the Wiimote. That damn thing seems to have a mind of its own sometimes.

Did you properly calibrate the Wiimote and set the position of the sensor bar right? That can make a HUGE difference.
Also, if you need more than say 15 feet, check out some of the third party sensor bars ... they are supposed to work better and greater distances.
Can't wait to hear your review.
