You normally see people there with boxes of crap...Lots of NES, SNES, Genesis, Intellivision, Coleco, 2600, Vectrex, C64 hardware...yadyadayada. Last time this one table had a ton of NES carts and the bootleg NES systems to go with them. Real mishmash of stuff.
Sounds to me Friday doesn't seem to be the time to go given whats on the site. Also when/if you do go and plan to be thirsty during your trip make sure you bring your OWN bottle water or beverage. They like to set up these expensive food stands outside the admission tables where the fat smelly nerds always congregate around them in line etc. Its a disgusting mess and trust me you aren't going to want to hang out with some 300lb Slipknot fan Goth guy who hasn't bathed in a week to discuss the finer points of the Atari Jaguar.
I swear you see more weirdos hanging and loitering OUTside the show than inside playing or browsing.![]()

Its a crapshoot...I've gone to them a few times, the sales tables always vary...Basically they look like mini garage sales of older and newer video game stuff. Very similar to when malls have those baseball card shows.
Its just cool to see all this crap laying around even if you are just browsing.![]()

My name is fairly self explanatory! Had it since I first registerd on a forum (as we know them now) in 2001.
I want to know about GrilledMonkeyFat.
The shorthand version of Fernando is "Fer", so people usually call me that. However, this is how the nickname "Flare" came about.
Back in 1998, I started working with the company I'm still employed at (Danfoss). My boss was the Supply Chain Manager and I was a Logistics Planner in charge of procurement and production.
We made filter driers which are used in refrigeration systems. At each side of the filter there are these parts called "flare connectors".
One day, we had a shortage of flare connectors so we had trouble fulfilling orders to customer. My boss was crazy running around trying to get these damn connectors.
At some point during the day he summoned me to his office but instead of calling me "Fer!" he said "Flare!" since those connectors were driving him crazy.
We all had a good laugh over the confusion, but the nickname stuck with me since then.
And that's how I got it. Now I use for everything.
And as for me....TripHamer....with only 1 M...
I guess in the late '90's I learned about irc and needed a "internet handle" so I sat there briefly trying to come up with something unique. After racking my brain putting two words together I came up with something that sounded good. Triphammer. And I started using that. However for some reason the last letter kept getting cut off and it appeared as triphamme. So I dropped an M and capatilized the H and TripHamer was born.

Tripped the hammer...it fell down!
Let's just say I have an Apple 2 program I wrote in the 80's and it says "by NE146 and Craig Enders" (craig was my partner in that computer class)
I am NE146. Always have been.. probably always will be.
...at least until I croak and my online presence ceases to exist![]()
