Splatter house was just about perfect to the arcade.
Street fighter was great too!
The system had a lot of strange gamees too.

I had a japanese one from an import shop and only really remember sidearms being played for weeks alongside r-type. No idea what happened to it though
My friend picked up one of the portables from HK. Was pretty awesome at the time but very battery hungry - i think it needed 6 AAs to fireup but used same carts as its bigger brother so you could just slot the HUCARD in your wallet and go!
The worst game I had was Altered Beast, that was a very poor conversion

As a fan of the TG-16, I'll just repost Esteban's thread: (He was pretty cool for a lib () and I miss him!)

BTW:
Still having a problem with linking posts with "short names". Must be an opera thing. In I.E. The above URL could be shortened to "THIS" or "This link" - no go these days...
Vroooooom! psssft! Vroooooom! psssssft!

Nice to see an interesting thread from you Tally!![]()

I had a TG-16 briefly. The system went down to $69 one year I was in college, so I sold all my books and bought one (it was near the end of the semester anyways). I didn't have tons of games, and in fact, I really don't even know what happened to the system. I did go through a phase of selling systems, so maybe I got rid of it. Or it may have been stolen (I lost my original Genny & SNES to thieves). Anyways, I enjoyed Legendary Axe, althogh it was hard as heck. I also liked Dungeon Explorer quite a bit. But I think Splatterhouse was my favorite. I wish I still had the system, as there are lots of TG-16 games I want to try now. Hopefully the Wii Virtual Console will be done well (and cheap).
I have both the Splatterhouse HuCard and the Splatterhouse coin-op. The TGX-16 Splatterhouse is indeed a very good port. It does however lack alot of the gruesome background graphics that gives the arcade version such a unique atmosphere. Action wise very close though.......
Yeah the strange games are half the appeal of the Turbografx. (i.e. JJ and Jeff, etc.)
