    "Taito deal sees arcade classics resurrected"

    Hello Folks, here is a article I took from a magizne called "Retro Gamer" (puplished by Live Publishing) and I think you'll like it...

    Empire Strikes Back
    Tatio deal sees arcade classic resurrected

    Empire is to publish a collection of taito's coin-op hits on PS2, Xbox and PC. Over 30 Classic games are to be includedin the pacl, with titles like Space Invaders. Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands and Operation Wolf topping the bill.

    It's hardly a suprise that Tatio are dusting off their back catalogue considering Midway and Activision have done very well from their recent anthologies. And is was reported back in issue 8 (current mag issue is 10) that atrai and namco are to follow suite and release similar colections within the next few months. But at present not much else is known about this collection.

    We're are hoping that, as well as the games confrimed Tatio will inculde the following...
    * Arknoid
    * Chase HQ
    * New Zeland Story
    * Double Dragon (I'm personaly hopeing for 1 & 2, not 3 because it pants!)
    * Rastan Saga
    * Super Space Invaders
    We are also hoping that Operation Wolf comes with light gun support.

    No Firm release date comfirmed yet, but we expect it to be around Easter time next year. Of course we'll let you know in the up comming months.
    *end*

    If I find out more on this I'll let you guy in on it. I'm quite glad I got bored and brought this mag a launch time at work now heh.

    well what do you guy think? you exicted?

    I want Elevator Action and Zoo Keeper.

    Be nice to have Elevator Action 2 as well. Have that on emulator, but there is no sound.

    Well i'm looking forward to the comfirmed titles but i'm quite suprised nobody has notced that Double Dragon is made by Technos so unless Tatio brought the rights... ant gonna happen.

    I'm quite a huge fan of some of Tatio's stuff, Bubble Bobble series being a personal favouarte of mine but some of the game I reckon will be included are (theese don't include the titles mentioned in previous post)...
    * Cadash
    * The Darius Series
    * Birde King Series (proberbly, I'm not a huge fan but it will be included I reckon)
    * Pop 'n Pop (a cross between puzzle bobble and space invaders with other playable Tatio characters from other games, awsome!)
    * Puzzle Bobble (or at least one of them thrown in there somewere anyway)
    * The Rayforce series
    * The Rastan Saga series
    * Proberbly some quiz games getting thrown in somewere.

    I think to make over 30 games tatio will have to proberbly include a lot of seaquals, i'm thinking proberbly the intire Bubble Bobble series will get added and the same for operation wolf series.

    Speak for yourself - I would love to play Bubble Bobble on the HDTV Unlike other games, I don't really care if the sound is 100% accurate on this one, as this game is more about gameplay for me than the 'retro' aspect.

    Why not play the 200+ Bubble Bobble pixel perfect knock offs for the PC that are floating about?

    Nah, if that was the only good game in the set, I wouldn't buy it. But it would be at least worth a rental.

    Well, if you take that approach, why bother playing anything on your TV, since most of the games can be played emulatoed on a PC?
    Size does matter

    If you have a PC connected to your TV, then why waste time on the console retro packages like Arcade Treasures, if not for size?
