Why is Namco-Bandai hurting DS owners?

OK, so my title stinks, but it works. Snoopy Vs. The Red Baron is on PSP, but not on DS. Namco Bandai could really tap into a Peanuts fan jackpot if they put it onto the DS, but they don't want to make ANY money off the Peanuts property. Can someone PLEASE explain this to me, or is it just that more younger Peanuts fans own PSPs (against their better judgment)?

Maybe it's the type of game that just wouldn't work on the DS.

Or the license does not extend to the DS platform.
Or they don't have the design development team available to place it on the DS.
Or it was made but sucked so bad, it's been shelved.

But it still doesn't make any sense!! Why doesn't their license extend to Nintendo's platforms? Remember, we were promised a GC and DS version (according to NP)!

Who knows about what was in the licensing agreements. Maybe they are delayed or maybe they decide not to send out a DS version. Remember the Spiderman game on the console which was great but another company made the PC version which sucked...it all depends who negotiated and got the rights to produce for which platform and for which region.

It may not make sense but it all depends who paid for the rights and who got approved. As gamers, it seem senseless but in business where intellectual property/copyrights are a commodity, it makes $ence. EA bought monopolistic rights and so did Ubisoft for exclusivity title too. Small developers and publishers are creating for no-name (no brand,...no Peanuts, no Disney, no Movie themed, no Fifa, no NFL...etc) games; hoping maybe one of their no-name title or theme become popular and they could licence it. That's business....maybe Sony made a deal with them not to make a DS version...who knows what's behind the scene stuff happens. It stinks but that's life, it's not meant to be fair. So complain, get mad, don't buy, don't support, don't play and then get on with life. Get over it and play something else.

Thank you for posting BJ. I am a diehard Peanuts fan myself and I can't get past this issue either. In fact, Namco is porting a version for cellphones now. That's right. CELL PHONES!!! I mean, even if they have to strip some levels to get the game to fit on a cart...it would still seem like a step in the right direction to me.

In fact, I emailed Namco late last month asking if they would consider a port and I got the following canned response:

Thank you for contacting Namco Bandai's Customer Support Department.
