Anyone tried Halo 2 yet ?
Its amazing to see that there were over 1.5 million preorders for the game. Thats almost 75 million in revenue right there.
Stores were opened on midnight Monday so people could pick up the games.

yea im one of the suckers who reserved it ^_^. I'll pretty much just be playing this thing online.
I'm supposed to take my step-son to pick up his copy after work today - I guess we'll see what it's all about tonight.
All I've heard for the last several weeks is:
"Halo 2 comes out November 9th!" x infinity billion
This is the first really huge game release for him - I hope there's not too much of a let down. Pac-Man still depresses meMortal Monday more-or-less made up for it though

i got to say im having a ton of fun with it. I havnt played a game this non stop in a very very long time.
Anyone believe that the allowing Master Chief doing car jacking move in Halo2 is really stealing the idea from Grand Theft Auto 3? At first I thought it was unique later on, it reminded of GTA.
Just an FYI to anyone who has a mod chip - apparently, MS has added something to the game so that Halo 2 owners with mod chips are being banned from Xbox Live:

Ya, I saw that ... Remember, you opened the box, you agreed to their rules.
As I said - you don't own your Xbox. Its under lease.
What I love is the BS press ... "This is for YOUR protection". Its like when you go to a store and it says you're being video taped for YOUR protection.
Your Xbox LIve account has been disabled for your protection.
Notice the article says "digital media center" is an "unauthorized use" of the Xbox.
Those people thinking MS isn't going to mess with you...
The agreement further gives Microsoft authority to "retrieve information from the Xbox used to log onto Xbox Live as necessary to operate and protect the security of Xbox Live and to enforce this agreement."
I want all the people saying that Xbox isn't a hacker, misused PC masquerading as a console to read this article....

"Consider the improbable is possible"
The 'freeware' version running around the net has this 'protection' feature convienently taken out.
I was at Blockbuster today and was shocked that they actually had copies of this game available for rent, so I rented. I never played the original (have only had my Xbox for about 3 weeks), so I can't comment on that regard. After playing it for awhile this afternoon, this doesn't look like anything we haven't seen already a thousand times before - you run around in a first person perspective and shoot at things. *yawn* If you don't like FPS games, I don't think this is going to do much to change your mind. I will say that the music is really, really good .. about the only thing (sadly) this game has going for it
Who knows though, after spending more time with it (which I plan to do later this weekend), maybe I'll change my mind. Perhaps it gets better when you climb into a vehicle, but I've seen nothing to get excited about so far.
