Why Round Table Pizza might well BE the last honest pizza...

OK, i just got back from Ohio and California. I did try RT Pizza while I was out there, and maybe this will be insightful as to Round Table Pizza's slogan: "The Last Honest Pizza."

Round Table Pizza. Even the name sounds chivalrous and honest. That's because they are steeped in the mythology of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. And the myth is said to have happened in the medieval times, when chivalry was most honorable.

Then there's the atmosphere of Round Table. The branch I went to, which was in Fort Bragg, California, had tables, round of course, but also, they had a mini arcade. They had a Doctor Who pinball, an Area 51 combo cab, and a cockpit cab in the back, and a Neo-Geo MVS cabinet. Honesty in all its forms.

And then there's the pizza. I thought the red sauce was quite forgettable, but the garlic sauce was AMAZING. I never had much of a choice before, so this was most welcome. Everybody uses the same forgettable red sauce, but it takes an honest pizza place to break the cycle of blah pizza.

So, RT Pizza is my new favorite pizza place. I'm going back there (if CGE 07 is in California, of course) and eating that terrific pizza, and now that I know their pizza is honest-to-God good, i now have my own creative license to be more adventurous in Round Table Pizza-land.

It's funny man, the RT Pizza at Burlingame also had Neo Geo MVS cab and the Area 51 combo... the other one was Cruisin' USA.

Did that one had Tabasco sauce? How about anchovies?

Flare, in my experience the best pizza is always served by small family restaurants. We have two here in my neck of the woods, Tiny's and Mother Bear's. Half the students at IU practically live on Mother Bear's menu for four years at a stretch. Both restaurants use fresh ingredients, hand toss the crust and use delicious sauces that compliment the toppings.
My brother and I split a 14 inch sausage, pepperoni, mushroom and onion just last night, and that spicy sausage was so incredible that within 45 minutes we were both belching and breaking wind like cowboys after a bean supper. Now, that's good stuff!

Yes on anchovies. Not certain on the Tabasco sauce...(ewww...too spicy for my tastes.) Yep, Crusin' USA was the cockpit cab. Thank you Flare for jogging my memory a tad.

Sheesh, it seems the RT Pizzas have the same stuff!

Flare, thank God your American offices are in Baltimore...because you would have severe productivity loss going to RT Pizza for lunch every day...
