DS Homebrew with Mac OS X?

I'm thinking of getting a Superkey and Supercard so that I can run DS homebrew on my DS Lite (I'm mostly interested in running Scumm VM) but am concerned that I won't be able to do it with a Mac.

The Supercard website mentions software that is needed to convert some files to the right type before they will run. Does this apply to most homebrew software or will I simply (in most cases) be able to download a file, drag it to an SD card and have it work straight away?

Homebrew doesn't require a Win32 to "patch it". It is written to run from the devices.

So, if your intentions are pure, the Mac with an SD reader should do fine. As long as you can format in the FAT file system on the SD card, you should be set.

Thanks for the info. My Mac can format in FAT32 jsut fine so it looks like I'm good to go.

Don't worry about my intentions, by the way, I have 45 original DS games and have a strong personal hatred for illegitimate goods. I'm interested in this purely for the homebrews.

    Not FAT32 ... FAT (or FAT16).

    hi kaladron,

i am a macUser to, running OS X 10.4, & i bought my superCard miniSD + 1 GB mini SD card.(which come with a bigger normal size CS card case or convertor)

my printer has a SD card slot, & i can insert the SD card into my mac & it apper on desktop as a extenal disc, so u can copy in/out anything from/to the card & computer. yes u can drag it into the card, just like a external harddisc or diskette or thrumbdrive.

i use DSorganize, moonshell, Draw3, so far they are running well.
but i am not sure why some of the other DS apps arenot able to run on my DS lite (even though their extension are ".nds")

but for the file system is a bit different (which i am very new & still trying to learn/get use to it). try not to rename the homebrew software u got/download. & for your image/music/text files, as usual try not to name them with fancy symbols like " * & % # ~". spacebar is readable but try not to use it too.

1 thing: try to put/manage your files in different folders, example: all jpegs & iamges u create a folder called; "images" & put them inside, song/mp3 ito folder: music, text/html into folder: text.
so that it is less messy, because once u turn on your DS with supercard, on the so called main directory/page it listed out every single file/folder out, (or view as list in OSX's desktop).

btw, i am/prefer to use DSorganize to browse thru/view the contents inside my card. (to me personally this app is very useful or almost like a all-in-one app. because it is able to do many thing/features, exp: viewing jpeg/png, listening to mp3, edit/type text file, it can read my Address book's vcard (contact) & able to draw & save the drawing (as .png)

    hope this help.

How to Restore Original Store Settings without Mac OS X Install Disc? Is there any way to restore all my original Macbook settings without the Mac OS X Install disc? For some odd reason, when I bought my Macbook, it didn't come with the disc. & My friend wants my computer and wants it set to default and such. 5 stars to anyone who can help me,
