    Superkey!

If you check out the site for the supercard you'll now notice they have announced the Superkey... which sounds quite a bit like the Datel Media.. MORE INFO:

So, if someone was new to homebrew, and hasn't bought any of the components yet, would it be worth holding out a bit longer for this (instead of Max Media Launcher)? I know it is hard to comment on that without actually using the SuperKey, but any thoughts?

I'm thinking of getting this (or MML) along with a SuperCard Mini. Sounds like thats all I'd need, correct? I've been reading as many topics as I can about homebrew, but I gotta say its confusing if you've never been exposed to this stuff.

Don't know how long the Superkey is away from release but the MML is out now.

    Can you wait?

That is all you'll need (the miniSD doesn't come with an SD but you kinew that right?)

As long as you're willing to flash the unit, it doesn't matter WHAT key you have.

Flashing is a MUST because without the protection of a flashed DS, homebrew CAN brick your DS beyond recovery (well, without opening it and soldering a homemade cable or manually swapping BIOS chips). There is NO way I'd run homebrew without flashing the DS.

This post is intriguing to me; does it mean that when you use the regular Supercard SD, you can't go into sleep mode? I ask because currently if I want to put the game to sleep; it doesn't work (I've only been playing with the supercard in). e.g. Mario keeps saying Goodbye... Goodbye...Goodbye...

It's like if the sleep mode tries to kick in but it can't.

Sleep mode will work with a Supercard game but you need a DS game in the DS slot.

That's the problem with the Max Media Launcher. It sits in the DS slot but doesn't support sleep mode, so you would have to boot the game with the MML then swap it out for a DS game.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know this... I thought the DS was malfunctioning or something.

I thought that was the coolest touch (No pun intended!).

I don't know, I just found that really neat when I first heard it...It doesn't take much for me folks.
