Interesting choice for a game to bring back, hopefully it will be good.

Oh jesus ...
So, Xbox Live is now the dumping ground of mostly-lame ass PC shareware games that have been "enhanced" to have lots of particle effects and run in 1080i? I ain't trying to start a fight, but I see a formula here ...

Hmmm... I wonder if they're going to give MAME titles the same 1080i treatment...
Widescreen Robotron... sacrilege!
There is already a Robotron in hires now. As I mentioned before, resolution kills classic games IMHO, unless the graphics are enlarged to produce the same screen distance ratios to ensure accuracy in shot velocities and travel, etc. Buy hey, I appear to be in the minority.

If they do that... then they should name them something else.
If I see Time Pilot in XBox Live, I want to play the original one; not some ultra leet version with 3D rendered planes and multicolor volumetric clouds that is also called just "Time Pilot".
But we all know that won't happen.
I heard they are going to try to get MAME on Xbox Live legally.
Out of all the hi-def classic arcade games available in the Xbox Live Arcade for the 360, Joust has the most noticeable "enhancement" - a background. The other games (Gauntlet, Robotron, Smash TV) pretty much look like the originals. Are the sharpened graphics and the ability to play these games in hi-def REALLY a bad thing? You be the judge. I'm not playing these games on a hi-def TV, but I find them to be just as fun as the originals - sharpened graphics and all.

Its a problem with proportions ... how long it takes for a shot to get across the screen .. how much "space" are between major game elements. It makes the games "not feel right". In this picture, the playfield is HUGE - making "time end to end of the screen" a LONG longer. For those of us that REALLY LOVE these games, this change ruins the experience.
Like I said ... I must be the minority - Xbox people call this sh*t the second coming of christ ... Me, I'd rather play the originals as they were.

From the screenshot it looks like the distance of the playfield is the same isn't it? Seems like just the background was added.
It would be interesting for me to play these games in hi-def since I have been playing them on a "normal" TV for a while now - just to see how big of a gameplay difference there might be.Originally Posted by Shane R. Monroe

The things I like the most about playing these games on Xbox Live is the ability for me to play against or with a person online and the online high score list - it's nice to see where you are ranked compared to other players around the world.Originally Posted by Shane R. Monroe
