    Anyone want a G-mail account?

I have 4 gmail invites if anyone is interested. Just send me a PM with the email address you want me to send the invite to, also the form asks for a first and last name, so I need to know what you want to put in those fields.

I really don't have the desire to debate gmail as to whether or not the service is good. All I am doing is offering my invites to anyone who wants to have an account.

    Thanks.

I got one ... It don't work in Opera, so that counts me out. I just wanted to protect my name.

I know it doesn't work in Opera, which kinda sucks since I use Opera. I use my domains email mostly anyway, but I was invited to get an account so I signed up a few days ago. When I checked my account today I had 6 invites, gave 2 away and now I have 4 invites left. I just know that there are some people out there who really want to have an account and maybe some of those people browse here and don't know anyone who can invite them, so I am offering the accounts to anyone in that position. If no one wants them well that is alright to. Just offering, no harm done I think

The new version of Opera works with Gmail now ... I heard rumors, so I figured I'd try .... sure enough, it works now.

    Amazing.

Gmail is the Google email thing, right? If that's the case, then why the hell are people giving them away? Aren't they free?

    Obviously, I'm missing something here

    Its marketing bullshit hype.

Gmail is in "closed beta". But every so often, they give their loyal members x number of "invites" to join the beta program. Then they tell two friends, and so on and so on.

At one time, Gmail invites were going for (drum roll) upwards of $100 apiece on eBay.

Speaking of which ... I now have 6 GMAIL 'invites' to give away. PM me here if you want one ...

Wonder if I can get someone to buy 'em on eBay? heh ...
