For you shmup fans out there!

I know some of you people would be intrested in this sort of thing liking shmups and all that so here is the www.shmups.com 2005 Top 25 games voted for by shmups fans from around the world.

    http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=8662

Predictably DoDonPachi got the number one slot but what did suprise me was that Gradius V got second place over Raidant Silvergun which is think is good for the Konami team, they must of gotten something right?

Some thing that might intrest Flare and a few other DC fans on the board Border Down got to number 12. I've yet to buy this game but after strong recommendations from both this forum and shmups.com I think I'll track it down and buy it!

Thunder Force III, the most popular Megadrive shmup on this forum got to 9 while Starfox which was the this forums favourate Snes shmup did not even make it to the top 25(!?)

Personaly I am glad to see Mars Matrix and Shikigami no Shiro 2 make it to the top 10 they are both qaultiy games which I've been playing quite a lot recently.

Anyway what you you shoot-em-up fans think of this poll?

"I know, I know I shouldn't put it down until I absolutely master it."

Good quote, as oft said by any of us. You did get a bit worked over there, but good on the fellow for explaining his initial reply as being not quite as nasty as it appeared. These guys are hardcore aren't they?

Makes my weekly commute (that'll be an Explorer and $3.50/g!) to the semi-local Galaga seem a might quaint, at best!

Most updates happen within the Shmups.com Forums themselves, not the Shmups.com frontpage. I agree it's not ideal, but inevitable since the updater of the front page is a single person (currently on hiatus), compared with a separate team of active staff who work on Shmups Forum

That member's response was not really typical of the whole place though. Unlike all too many internet communities, the site does try not to be "elitist" or a clique... but there's a few bad apples/users everywhere. Don't feel put off by one random poster, imo.
