The status of emulation on the GP2X...

    SNES:
It just seems to me that a proper port of a emu like ZSNES or SNES9X to the GP2X rather than, say, bare-bones SNES emulation would be a damn good thing indeed.

    CD32:
Yeah, yeah, I know the UAE emulates all AGA software, but what if we got a port of Akiko, the CD32 emu? That'd be leet.

So, what do you guys think?

    BJ

EDIT: Damn S & D keys being right next to each other...

EDIT 2.0: OK, so Saturn and Dreamcast emulation are next to impossible...

Do you know the work involved in the emu that the people are doing now is?

    Same deal as above.
They will never happen. There is no way you could get the speed for them to ever work. The Saturn would be before the DC but it would still be some amzing work never before seen with ARM ASM to get it to work.

I agree. Playstation emulation would be possible, I imagine, but I doubt any system more powerful than that will ever be done to any appreciable degree.
    I'm starting to miss buttons...

No. The compatibility list according to the GP2X wiki suxors.

That is OK, I guess. By the time they finally nail Saturn emulation, I'll have a Dreamcast with proper emulation and all the cool titles.

Okay, okay! So the Saturn is damn near impossible. I can concede that. I fixed that in the editing!

I think that a SNES9X port (it'd be probably called something catchy like SNES2X) would be pretty cool, plus the compatibility is second to none.

I believe that both of the SNES emus for the GP2x are using SNES9x code. I know that one of them is for a fact.

Which one? I'm hoping that it's not Squidge's SNES emu.
