Wow... the design of this new ActLabs gun is so cool. It's not goffy-looking like the previous one (the one that looked like it belonged to Marvin MartianOriginally Posted by Strafe

I think I need to get Act labs to send me one so I can see how well it works.

Now I could play House of the Dead on a 60" LCD Rear Projection! Leet!
House of the Dead 4 on a HDTV screen is so cool.

Just listening through the show now - loved the interview despite not having been into Atari back in the day (I was born in 1980 and didn't start gaming until I was about 8+), it's good to hear. Loved the "these are not the beers you are looking for" gag Shane!
I do what I can to please! Welcome to the new members of the forum that this is your first thread!

Loved the David Comstock interviews the past two months! And here I thought I was one of the only people in the world who saw/loved "Cloak & Dagger.." course, I scoured for a vhs copy of the movie and found one just shortly before it was released on DVD.. *razzlefrazzle* Also, I started listening to the first year's shows on the Starving student edition discs at work today. I got up to somewhere in March of 99 today. Wow, it's amazing how different and yet how similar the early shows are to what we have today. I also like how you can track the timing/era of the show by Shane mentioning his pc specs.. "running this emulator on a pentium 200.." "my celeron 300a overclocked to 374.." I loved listening to it because it actually follows very similar to how I progressed.. (I had a celeron 366..)
Anyways, keep up the good work, although I'm anxious to see the "credit for bits & bytes" system and what's going to become of the google talk / call in stuff you've talked about the last few months.

Good episode. The show feels like it's going back to its roots now, with classic 8-bit flashback, less mentions of the Nintendo DS, that vibe again that makes me want to "keep it retro"; I think splitting DS stuff off to its own show is paying off.
Too bad there's no CGE this year, I hear you might be going to E3 instead, while I'm sure that will provide plenty of coverage for DSRadio it probably won't have much classic gaming stuff for RGR. Huge sites like Gamespot and IGN provide overwhelming E3 coverage each year too. Hopefully in place of CGE this year you can convince classic gaming people to give you good interviews through Skype, I've heard it used successfully for that purpose by people once they got a method to record the stream - it's almost like the people talking are in the same room. Plus your interviewee on the other end of Skype can be sitting relaxed at home drinking a beer, so it could even produce more relaxed interviews than ever before. Alternatively maybe you can consider going to one of the "lesser" classic gaming conventions around, maybe they'll have a bigger show this year with more guests since there's no CGE
I'll come up with something ... don't worry![]()

Actually, my buddy Dave and I are looking to start a Commodore "news" radio show and are experimenting with jabber/skype/etc. right now. I just fired up goldwave and had no problems at all recording the stream. Other than some minor adjustments to sound levels, the quality was very good and did indeed sound like we were in the same room.Originally Posted by Galaga will never die
Also, fwiw, I've got some phone taps that plug into regular land lines and provide a standard microphone plug as well, if Shane ever wanted to try recording interviews over a standard land line -- I'd gladly send him one if he wanted to do that as well. Anything to keep the great interviews coming during the CGE hiatus!
Yeah, I'd love to see something happen that wasn't on the west coast.Alternatively maybe you can consider going to one of the "lesser" classic gaming conventions around, maybe they'll have a bigger show this year with more guests since there's no CGEAlthough my wife and I are wanting to plan a trip to Vegas this fall as well -- too bad no CGE there this year. Oh well..
