I'm really looking forward to your review of Resident Evil DS as it should help me decide once and for all whether I'm going to pick it up.

I already own both the PS1 original and the Gamecube remake, so technically I don't need this new version at all. Yet strangely I still find myself tempted by it. It will be your thoughts on the "Rebirth" and multiplayer modes that make my mind up on the issue.

I think multiplayer is going to make this game a winner.

Mine still hasn't arrived from LikSang yet so I "obtained" a dump of it to have a look at while I wait, and it is just a straight port with added features in rebirth mode.

The poor control is still there and the wait while the doors open, but if you like the game and want some multiplayer action (combative or co-operative) then pick it up.

Well, since the reviews will be delayed along with show #3 I will give you some quick advice in relation to what I will discuss and mention about it...

...Basically if you are a hardcore fan or haven't played the original, its worth it. Since you sound like a hardcore type, go for it. My younger brother is a HUGE RE and Silent Hill fan and he loved it. He's already doing speed runs to unlock all the goodies....So far his best was 1 hour 6 min and that netted him a rocket launcher with unlimited ammo.

I played the 2 player multi with him the other night and it was quite enjoyable although I still suck with the controls so we lost. But as was mentioned, the horrid controls are STILL there although you can customize them a little.

I'll save the rest for the show because I've already chastized Shane about spilling the beans as it is...

Coming from someone that NEVER played the original (or the original remake) and enjoyed RE4 on the Cube ... I concur with Chris completely. If you're waiting on a recommendation - and you fall into one of those categories ... I'd pull the trigger.
