RGR Show Ideas

how about a forums section on the show where you can respond to some topics that people have posted in, would make the show a lot more interactive and also give a few shout outs to contributors?

while im at it how about a game sound compitition?

30 sounds from arcade , console and computer games and listeners have to guess the games?

There's the "Ask Shane" section once featured in a show (07-23-2005), then recently Shane said we should expect something big related to that.

Recently Shane ran a great contest; which consisted of identifying 10 AMIGA games, the winners received a copy of the AMIGA Forever package (compliments of Michael Battilana).

I'm with you here, although if it happened, it would for sure be C64 or AMIGA sounds, an area where I'm no expect

(I went the console way back then)

yea but to make it interesting you could make the sounds from a certain year (across all formats) and you have to guess the year?

just thinking out loud here

Are you a long time listener? This reminded me of the old days when Shane would do the 8-bit flashback and he would ask you to guess the sound of the game.

no not a long time listener, infact the current show is the 1st i heard.
im a big believer in listiner interaction though, keeps the shows current and interesting.

btw i am impresses with the shows output , my mp3 player has plenty of listining material for my trip to and from work.

Please take a look at the FAQ for the site with regards to maintaining higher quality messages. We are working to keep higher-class play with regards to forum members, and the fastest way for a board to degenerate is to allow giant sig blocks, animated avatars, and 'sloppy posting' - no capitals, ALL CAPITALS, blatent spelling errors (we all make mistakes) ... that sort of thing. Nothing personal, but we have a really good group here, and we want to keep it that way. That being said ... WELCOME!

As for the listener interaction, there is something big coming - as mentioned. Understand I don't make money from this show, and I already spend a lot of time with it. To do anything MAJOR requires even more of my time.

Also, we've been accused of regurgitating the forums and making a show out of them - so I specifically try to AVOID certain topics - esp. those that have been submitted as news items. This way, when talk on the show, you know its MY feelings and thoughts, uninfluenced by others.
