Moonshell - good stuff ... Get an FM transmitter for the car stereo, and you're SET TO JET.

    *cough*

The above opinion does not reflect the opinion of the management.

They are illegal in the UK but drive around tuned into 107.9 and see how many radio stations you get while stuck in traffic.

It just plugs into the earjack of the player and transmit a signal onto an FM channel. The range is limited to several meters ( 10 to 30 feet), closer to the radio is better. Sound is very good on a clear channel. It beats wiring it up but can cause radio interference (some places may ban such things). Usually sold in the dept where all the MP3 devices are in the store.

Thanks to the iPod, there are HUNDREDS of these devices available now.

I have one and have no problem with it.

There are 4 FM frequencies to choose from on them and some have a different 4 to others. I had to pick one with frequencies not used in my area.

Generally it will override a station as it's sat in your car anyway but best to be on a clear frequency.

They are illegal in the UK though so check that too.

Works with my Creative player, my P900 and my DS just great.

Yeah and you know what is friggin hysterical? Half of these transmitters come in iPod white. They are the SAME exact transmitter but white, however because they are white they are $10-15-20 more than the boring black or gray versions and then people say "OH this must be for the iPod". Yeah.

Anyway I personally use this one here for my Nano in my car:

Ignore the reviews, I've been using it since October and it works fantastic. Has a great range, lit display, nice long wire to move for reception and best of all only takes 1 AAA battery which lasts about 6-8 hours or so.
