Ok... This is driving me crazy. I'm trying to check my Roadrunner email from work. It works fine in Opera, but it never prompts me to save my password. So each time I check it, I have to re-type everything (and did I get lazy with using WAND). Any ideas. The webpage (generic Roadrunner page) is https://webmail.wi.rr.com/

I've tried manually adding it also, but it didn't work.

    Any Ideas?

    Dave

The webpage uses 100% NON-STANDARD form processing (its ALL Javascript) so Opera treats it like a STANDARD form, not a password login. So, it doesn't volunteer to save it.

Unfortunately, they probably did this on PURPOSE to STOP auto login saves in IE, FF, and Opera for "security".

Can you get around it? Yeah, try this:

https://webmail.wi.rr.com/login.msc?...&password=test - fill in YOUR username and password ... see if it works. I don't have an account so I can't test it... If it works, make a link with THIS URL, and you'll never have to login again.

Hey Shane, do you know if Opera has any Proxomitron-like functionality in any of its config files? Basically when you use the Speak, "%t" option that tells the voice reader to ignore HTML markups, it hangs every time it runs into a ’ character. For example, if you were trying to read the following:

    one ’ two ’ three

It would never get to two What I'd like to do is replace all ’ characters with ' .. the latter appears to work ok. I've been able to use Prox to get around the other characters that Opera's voice hangs on (such as &mdash), but it doesn't work with '.

The only other option is just to have Opera read pages normally, but if there is a lot of bold/italitc text, then ... the ... voice ... reads ... it ... like ... this.

You can do all sorts of things with Opera using USER JAVASCRIPT. Sh*t, you can rewrite half the damn website.

    http://www.userjs.org

I recently wrote user JS to hijack Netflix.com javascript functions that were crashing Opera's latest preview release.

Is there some way to get the download manager to close automatically after all downloads are finished ?

Hmmm... I don't believe it quite works that way. You CAN control the transfer window many ways. You can SUPRESS it from opening when you start a download and a popup will alert you when it is done. You can embed it into the sidebar only (which is what I do). I think you can also "open to back" when a transfer starts. Couple different things there.

Dunno if this has been answered, or covered in this or another thread. Here goes:

For some reason, Netscape plays audio kinda jumpy lately, like it's from a scratched CD, so I decided to take my business to Opera, which plays it fine, so I decided to make Opera the default browser. Now both Netscape and Opera are listed as the default, and when the pop-up screen says "Would you like opera to be your default browser" I click yes, and Opera never loads. It loads when I click no, though.

Should I uninstall Netscape completely, or is there something I can configure in Opera? Opera is a pretty great browser.....if I can get it to work properly.

    Thanks

Try manually setting Netscape (in it's preferences somewhere) to not be the Default browser, and alternately, set Opera's to be the Default. If that don't work, I'd say uninstall Netscape.

    Anyone else know?

That IS a weird one. I haven't seen that problem... But I'd bank on Netscape being a pain in the ass.
