MS has the most boring ass conferences. I have no idea who they are marketing anymore. How many media resources do we need? WHERE ARE THE GAMES?
Who cares about Nike!?

What are they doing with Nike?

I care about Nike. She's so oft-forgotten.

I think MS is leaving gaming - and this is part of their exit strategy.
Javier Lopez10:09 AM+1
Exercise = not for gamers.. LOL
Jeff McGraw10:09 AM
I think Sony usually has the most boring press conferences, followed closely by Microsoft.
Shane Monroe10:10 AMEdit
What's great is .. Sony's conferences .. they act like they are announcing the cure for cancer. At least MS looks like they know their conference sucks.
Chris Hentschel10:10 AM
Sony will just show video clips of games they showed video clips of 2-3 years ago. Like that game with that giant dog with feathers.
Javier Lopez10:10 AM
I'm starting to remember why I started gaming on the PC again. LOL Ridiculous.
Alex J. Lopez10:11 AM
Pure crap.
Chris Hentschel10:11 AM

Didn't even know there was a "windows tablet". It's doomed to failure. Who the hell owns a windows mobile phone or windows tablet. WTF is that?
Chris Hentschel10:14 AM
Thank you MS for creating yet another device I could rent or buy digital movies from! Just what I need!
Shane Monroe10:14 AMEdit
What? You didn't take the Windows Phone Manilow Challenge? Sorry, "Smoked by Windows Phone"?
Shane Monroe10:15 AMEdit
+Chris Hentschel There is no such thing as BUYING with digital media. Silly rabbit.
Chris Hentschel10:16 AM
Right right, you know, 'extended rental'.
Javier Lopez10:17 AM
doesn't the DS talk to the Wii in some capacity?
Shane Monroe10:18 AMEdit
+Javier Lopez not really, no. Another Nintendo failure.
Javier Lopez10:18 AM
GREAT! Another console based web browser?
Shane Monroe10:19 AMEdit
+Javier Lopez BUT BUT!!! THIS HAS BING!!!
Javier Lopez10:19 AM
BINGA!
Chris Hentschel10:19 AM
+Javier Lopez unless you count the demos you can send from the Wii to the DS....Which should have been there from the start.
Shane Monroe10:19 AMEdit
The question is: Can Bing find an abortion clinic?
Javier Lopez10:20 AM
Video cut out! Nice!
Javier Lopez10:21 AM
I have something they can pinch and zoom
Chris Evans10:22 AM
Reminds me of Airplay, which I've been using for quite some time now. I airplayed iwata's Nintendo Direct conference from my iPhone to my TV.
Shane Monroe10:22 AMEdit
I just watched it on the Gnex. Flash player you know.
Shane Monroe10:25 AMEdit
At least Tomb Raider looks good. Of course, that's cross platform. So no need for Xbox for that.
Chris Hentschel10:28 AM
Right, see, now we get games that aren't even XBOX exclusive. Halo 4, GOW 4 and Forza 4 are all you are getting from MS this year in terms of exclusivity it seems. That is the 360's weakest point IMO so they have to candy coat it with hardware perks rather than software to entice people to invest in them.
Oh and uh, Fable Journey....heh
Chris Hentschel10:28 AM
+Shane Monroe kicking myself for not bringing the Transformer to work.
Shane Monroe10:28 AMEdit
+Chris Hentschel hahahahaha
Chris Hentschel10:35 AM (edited)
I swear this is like deja vu. They showed Tomb Raider last year along with Fable Journey, GOW 3 and a Halo game. WTF?
Tomb Raider looked cool last year, and it looks even better this year...Actually looks like a fun time. Problem is that it will be on all three consoles so this just ends up being a commercial for Tomb Raider, much less the 360.
Shane Monroe10:34 AMEdit
I'll wait for the 3DS version of Tomb Raider.
Chris Hentschel10:36 AM
From Gore Verbinski?
Is this like when Steven Spielberg's name was plastered on top of Boom Blox?
Shane Monroe10:37 AMEdit
+Chris Hentschel Ya! "My kids like it .. so here, use my name. Oh, and replace all the guns with cute animals. Then get me that Chinese Language file I asked for ..."
Shane Monroe10:37 AMEdit
This presser is making me excited ... To get the next Resident Evil game on my 3DS ...
Chris Hentschel10:38 AM
Resident Evil 6...If it plays like RE 4 or the 3DS one, I am sold.
Chris Hentschel10:38 AM
Am I the only one sick of QTE crap?
Shane Monroe10:39 AMEdit
+Chris Hentschel I like it in RE context ... it was fun in Thor 3DS too.
Shane Monroe10:39 AMEdit
Oh good "Angry Birds Kinect featuring a tattooed chick". THAT lends it credibility!
Chris Hentschel10:39 AM
I guess it is better than watching video cinematics. hehe
Shane Monroe10:40 AMEdit
Finally, something I want to play ... South Park RPG.
Chris Hentschel10:43 AM
ROFL, March of 2013.
Justin Mayse10:43 AM
That South Park game looks great. I could do that.
Chris Hentschel10:43 AM
Totally...That looks damn cool.
Shane Monroe10:44 AMEdit
Hey, +Justin Mayse is here!
Justin Mayse10:44 AM
I am watching the MS E3 stuff live through XBOX Live. Hahahaha!!
Russell Trapp10:49 AM
Lame ass Dance crap.
Chris Hentschel10:52 AM
More Call of Duty now.
....
David T10:54 AM
Announce a free Xbox live service that is for limited use. Stop making stuff like Netflix and Hulu tied to having a subscription.
Justin Mayse10:57 AM
Black Ops 2 looks like more of the same...
David T10:58 AM
There aren't enough dancing games for Kinect. Spin off Star Wars Galactic Dance-Off into its own series.
Shane Monroe10:58 AMEdit
Why not? The other one sold.
Shane Monroe10:59 AMEdit
I'm glad so many great games are coming out on Xbox ... for E3 2013 ...
Shane Monroe11:01 AMEdit
I gotta admit though ... for as old as Xbox 360 is - they are getting some damn good visuals out of it.
Chris Hentschel11:02 AM
Yeah I mean, Tomb Raider was shown last year.
Shane Monroe11:02 AMEdit
Whoa! There IS an Xbox game coming out this year ... COD BO2. Who could have seen THAT coming????
Chris Hentschel11:02 AM
I'm waiting for Space Channel 5 Kinect edition
Shane Monroe11:03 AMEdit
+Chris Hentschel HAHAHAH!
Chris Hentschel11:03 AM (edited)
+Shane Monroe the new Madden. I wonder if Wii U will get it....How cool would it be to use the Wii U screen in Sniper Scope style?
Shame they won't do that of course...
Shane Monroe11:04 AMEdit
They better ... Radar in Aliens ... .sniper scope on COD.
Shane Monroe11:05 AMEdit
And I quote Brian from Family Guy while watching Blair Witch Project: It's Over ... Everyone looks pissed.
Chris Hentschel11:05 AM
I am getting attacked for being pessimistic and grounded in my Wii U enthusiasm so I will simply say...
OMG YES, ALL OVER MY FACE! BRING IT ON NINTENDO! WHOOHOO!
Now when they don't deliver, don't get pissed off.
Shane Monroe11:06 AMEdit
I hear they are announcing a holographic projector on the GamePad.
Chris Evans11:06 AM - Reply
Hell, I'd be excited if Sony introduced a remote for the PS3 that had a friggin' power button on it.
Shane Monroe11:06 AMEdit
+Chris Evans BAHHAHHAHAHA! OMG ... that owned. I'll take one too!
Chris Hentschel11:11 AM - Reply
PS3 tablet controller with an 'Always Connect' button that allows you to check up to date Sony stock forecasts.
Javier Lopez11:12 AM (edited)
I'm guessing these guys realize they can't catch up with the PC, so they're going in a different direction. With all this media crap. As for gaming?
It's the same recycled crap one year to the next. COD? Check! Gears of War? Check! Halo? Check! Splinter Cell? Check! Some weird ass Fable game? Check!
Wii U will be great for the family. To be honest, kids are going to love that.
Shane Monroe11:12 AMEdit
+Javier Lopez That's what I'm hoping for ... another console my son and I can play together.
Chris Hentschel11:16 AM (edited)
This MS conference actually made me want a Wii U even more.
David T11:16 AM
+Chris Hentschel If they announce Space Channel 5 for Kinect, I'm going to run out and buy one.
Chris Hentschel11:18 AM (edited)
+David T they won't, because Sega is too stupid regurgitating terrible Sonic games rather than taking advantage of their awesome back catalog of properties.
David T11:21 AM
Left right left down Chu Chu Chu! God I miss that game.
Javier Lopez11:23 AM
As for the Wii U, if Nintendo sets a reasonable price on the thing, I'm all over it. If they make the same dumb-ass move they did when they released the 3DS and overprice it, they'll lose out. Price point should be $299 or less. Anything more and it's going to fail. But that's just my opinion.
Shane Monroe12:48 PMEdit
I truly believe it will be $349 with a $50 price drop within 6-8 months.
Chris Hentschel12:51 PM
The N64 was set to cost $249 moments before its launch. It could happen again with Wii U.
Shane Monroe12:53 PMEdit
Sure man .. anything is possible. All depends on if they are willing to suck down a loss this time.
Jeff McGraw3:08 PM
I think it will either be $299 or $349 depending on what it costs to make. If Nintendo can sell it for $299 without losing money, they probably will. I think they will go as low as possible without losing money. The last thing they want is to put out the Wii U at a higher price only having to drop it a few months later. They just did that with the 3DS. And it didn't work out well.
Iwata took a 50% pay cut for that fiasco. I doubt he wants more of that.
Javier Lopez4:33 PM
The Wii was successful for several reasons. Name recognition, a unique way to interface, some interesting games and PRICE. The Wii was the less expensive console of the 3 consoles of that time.
When I considered buying a console this generation, I didn't have to think twice about it. I'd owned every Nintendo console going back to the NES, so the Wii was a natural choice. The fact that the Wii was $100 less than the alternatives made it more palatable.
When Nintendo announced the 3DS, I was actually a little excited. I've never been a big handheld gamer. I've always figured if I wanted to sit down and play a game, I'd rather play on my TV or PC. But, considering the hype with the 3DS, I was interested. As soon as I caught a glimpse of the price tag, I was instantly turned off. While Nintendo figured out their business plan, I completely lost interest, and although I hear there are some fun games on the 3DS, I'm no longer interested.
Nintendo's core audience will always be family based. Sure there's going to be some Nintendo fans that will buy whatever they sell, but the more broad market is going to be price weary. We are in a huge economic recession. I just don't see people readily over-spending on what amounts to an "amusement". Not with mortgages having to get paid, groceries having to be bought and having to put gas in cars.
