Don't write services like Steam and OnLive off entirely. Sometimes they have sales where you can get games on the cheap; OnLive recently had a sale on Ubisoft games... I saw a few (like Assassin's Creed II) going for $5. Now, even those who are staunchly against this model can't argue that this isn't a good deal. Hell, that's cheaper than renting Plus, OnLive has free trials on most of their games, and 3-5 day rentals as well. So even if they're not viable alternatives for most, they're still useful for some things.

When you mentioned 7-eleven in the "killing used games" segment, it brought back memories of me buying an Atari 2600 cartridge there back in the day. Yes, they sold Atari 2600 cartridges there at one point in time. But I don't remember what they charged for it since they charge me $4.00 for something I can get much cheaper at the Grocery store. But I am sure there was some mark up on it as compared to buying it somewhere else at that time.
