I can understand something such as World Of Warcraft needing online since it's intended to be an massively huge online multiplayer experience. On the other hand from my time with the Diablo 3 beta I simply don't see the need for multiplayer with this outside of perhaps grouping together to co-op on dungeons, auction house, and potentially PvP stuff. I'll have my hands on Diablo 3 this Tuesday so I'll give my review on the game itself soon enough.

The developers are usually on our side. The problem is that DRM is forced by businessmen who don't play games or read game websites. They're not aware of the complaints as they're too busy playing golf, going to cocktail parties, screwing boys in Thailand or whatever the hell rich people do. All they care about is how much the game sells. I'm sure Diablo 3 is selling like hotcakes regardless. If it isn't, they would probably think it was due to the DRM not being restrictive enough.

Well, whoever took the decision, you could argue that the negative publicity about error 37 and the servers not coping just highlights the fact that the game has been released...

Or it could have been an PR stunt by Blizzard to make themselves look good to investors. "Oh look we were prepared for the Diablo 3 launch with massive servers but still got overwhelmed due to this game being even more hugely popular then we ever anticipated so we increased our massive servers even more to make error 37 go away."

Yeah... PR stunt folks. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I guess I'll be holding out for the console version, (if it ever comes out). I can't see Diablo working well with traditional game controllers but if that much hyped Wii-U controller is good for anything, it should do so perfectly.

Great game so far. Just finished Act 2 a bit ago on normal mode. Don't let the DRM issues turn you off from playing this. Worth it.

In one sense I can understand why they are forcing the single player to be online, in an effort to prevent cheating. But really, if you are going to cheat why play?

The DRM will turn us off from playing whether we let it or not.

Been playing since launch nite. No issues with connectivity thus far. Game is awesome and Diablo dies tonight.
