Microsoft has no real interest in a dedicated gaming device. Probably because the know better.
They want Windows 8 to be your gaming device - be it PC, tablet or phone. It doesn't make sense in their roadmap to put out a dedicated gaming device.

"Consider the improbable is possible"
Ha no surprise Shane this article seems to lean toward what you have already said is liekly to become of the VITA lol:

So I got my hands on the demo.
WOW that is one nice screen.
After looking and liking it I think this comes to mind.
Sony your reign of drones is over (I hope Apple is next)
You have a great "over priced" product that will die on the vine.
Funny how everyone seems to see the fanboy price milking of Sony but fails to see Apply milking their army of drones.
All the hating of the price and costs aside: after purchase it sure is a nice piece of hardware I will gladly pick this up when it is clearance and the games are reasonable (or available)
Killer Tomato formula is nearly complete
Hold on a minute there Mr Duct Tape. You bitched forever about the Wii being a dressed up Gamecube that was overpriced. Never once did you say "how are the games?" "what is the gaming experience like?" It's a bit hypocritical of you to say the gaming experience is all that matters now when similar arguments are made about the Vita. Fanboy much?
Someone hasn't been keeping up.
Yes, the gamecube...I mean Wii is a duct-tapped Wii...I mean Gamecube.
I've since grown past that as technology is getting to the point where specs don't matter as much. It's all about the experience.....but not with the Wii....forget that.
Got it?
Well until the next "leap" in technology that is. But for now, it's six of one, half dozen of the others....what games do you like....what features and or services that the company provides do you like.
Not for the Duct-tapped Wii though.
I would even dare to say that now that the price has dropped on the 3DS that it's at a reasonable price and if I had the cash to drop on one and some games I would consider picking one up.
And no, I'm not buying a Vita anytime soon....My "wait a year" policy is in effect....even if I was interested.

Tripped the hammer...it fell down!
Has anyone played Reality Fighters on the Vita? Its an AR fighting game on the system. I think its one of the few gems on the system that is pretty good.
