What makes it a great app is:
- the really fast picture taking (Apple flat out stole this for iOS 5, although they didn't quite take the exceptionally fast turnaround between pics)
- the separation of the exposure and focus controls (I am really appreciative of this, believe me)
- the rule of thirds grid that Apple flat out stole for their built-in camera app in iOS 5
- the optical image stabilizer (which REALLY helps keep shakycam stills to a bare minimum and another Apple steal for iOS 5)
- the Photo Flashlight that allows you to get the best quality photos with the LED flash on the iPhone 4 or 4S in tandem with the other features mentioned above
- different crops and borders (including a Polaroid border)
- adding captions
- some really great effects
- 6X digital zoom
- some "scene modes", including one called Clarity
- some great sharing options
- A self timer (why oh why did Apple not do this with its own built-in camera app)
- A burst mode (another one that Apple didn't do with its own built-in camera app)
Plus it's 99 cents, the best part of all. And the one feature that got them banned from the App Store (VolumeSnap), Apple flat out stole for its own camera app in iOS 5! And now having a 4S, while I like the "Volume Snap" feature in the built-in camera app, I'd like to see Apple basically give TapTapTap the credit it frankly deserves and let them use the VolumeSnap in their app.
