    Ideas for the Radio Station

    I'll start with a disclaimer:

I do come up with ideas and don't mind sharing them. Not to possibly insult someone in some way shape or form or to act superior or with some kind of motive. I share them because I enjoy doing so. Also I don't get offended if my ideas are rejected, thought of as stupid or just plain ignored. Also, if anything I share here and is used either directly or as a catalyst for an even better idea that gets implemented, I consider it part of the public domain and is free for all who read them. Nor do I take any responsibility for any results of any implementation of anything...good or bad. My philosophy is, if 1 in 100 ideas is accepted and used, then that is a good ratio. Feel free to be as critical as possible with any idea I share as testing them can only improve them or spawn a better one.

    There, I feel better now.

Ideas start with the next post.

I'll start with the few I entered into the survey and build up from there.

-Kidhype songs: Arcade Turntableism comes to mind.

-Break up shows into multi day segments ("Tune into tomorrow for part 2")

-1-5 second sound clips of retro arcade game sound effects for bumpers and such.

-Podcasts and or clips from other Retro Podcasts (Armchair Arcade, Retrogaming Roundup and Video Masters TV, off the top of my head.)

    -New segments and guest "Hosts"

    -Sound bites from "guests"

-short classic game reviews & gameplay/chat/commentary

    -Shane's Soapbox

    I'll stop here for now.

Some very good ideas ... I'm not thrilled about all of them, but most of them - yes! I have plenty of guest announces and some good audio stuff I can throw Alex's way to add.

I know it is a long shot Shane but any chance for any new small RGR segments say maybe a half hour long or so, I realize the 3 hour shows you used to put out were not sustainable

I've already left feedback as part of the survey so I won't go into much details here, but I think new monroeworld content in general would be very welcome (be it new RGR or other commentary pieces from Shane, Alex & Co.).

I'm sorry Shane I know I bug a lot about that but what can I say I see it as some of your best work. That and I have a great love for the classic games.

I will stop bugging you on it now, no more from me on it.

I love the station but since it is streaming I miss content when my commute ends or if my net connection drops. It might be nice to have an ad randomly sprinkled through the shows "Like what you're hearing? Get the podcasts at www.m...." and have a way to grab the shows (a lower quality version of the shows broadcasted that day), or order the dvds. Definitely a good way to grab more site traffic and generate interest, but it shouldn't be the primary way to listen to the content.
