Oh Nintendo, just as I get irritated with you, you show me a picture of Link fighting a giant spider in HD and I fall right back into your warm arms. There is simply no way I'll ever miss out on a Zelda game. Wii U day one.

The Wii U's proprietary disc format will hold 25GB of data.

Interesting, that article also states that the on-board storage will be 8GB. Not bad when you consider that's before an SD card or hard drive.

Those are gonna be big ISOs, so I'd say at least a 500GB drive is in order

Big Disc storage space does not necessarily equal games that take up that much space.

Well, as always, time will tell. This thing is a good year away ... we're not even CLOSE to seeing what amazing shit it might kick out.

Resistive screens of the 7" variety automatically add $100 to any tablet, so I can understand capacitive. The Velocity Cruz reader has a capacitive and it's damn near as good as resistive (try it at Best Buy).

Here, let me rewrite that so that makes sense.

"Capacitive screens of the 7" variety automatically add $100 to any tablet, so I can understand resistive. The Velocity Cruz reader has a resistive and it's damn near as good as capacitive (try it at Best Buy)."

Resistive is the cheap screen used in the DS/3DS, and capacitive is used on the iPhone. Capacitive allows for a light touch because it is based on electrical current hitting your fingertip, while resistive is based on pressure applied to the screen.

But there's nothing really wrong with resistive. I kinda like that Nintendo is bucking the trend and sticking with what has worked for them. I like the fact that they are keeping the stylus alive, as it still has many game applications. Nintendo's resistive screens have always been top notch, and multitouch really hasn't proven itself to be that useful for gaming other than virtual controls (which are awful and not needed on Nintendo's consoles anyway).

See, that is impractical. Nobody is going to get that, because you are looking at people having multiple $200+ phones. That's ridiculous. Same problem when Sony showed off a similar feature with Gran Turismo 4 using the PSP as a rear view mirror (don't know if that made it into the final game), the PSP is a separate console and that adds another variable that developers cannot count on.

This is the same thing the Wii triumphed on. Since the motion controller was standard and included with the system, every game could use it. Similarly, as every Wii U system will have one new controller, it is also a standard.

I want to point out that so far, all the multiplayer games shown so far have used only ONE new controller and multiple Wii Remotes. It seems that Nintendo is designing this thing to have one New controller and multiple Classic controllers or Wii Remotes. So people who are worried about this thing costing $100+ to get additional controllers, keep in mind that might not be necessary.

Also, some people have worried that if you drop the thing, the LCD screen will crack easily. Well, I've dropped my DS hundreds of time and the screen has yet to crack. Nintendo has proven time and time again that it makes the most durable hardware. As pointed out by the review that Alex posted, the controller is amazingly light.
