TeamViewer - Where have I been?

Many of us are designated "family IT support", so remote controlling your family member's PC is a standard evolution. Unfortunately, most of the ways to do it suffer from a lot of issues - like requiring Java, requiring a monthly fee, installing weird software, disabling firewalls or security software, etc.

I just tested this across my COUNTY (work) network - and I was able to get in and out - which is a miracle.

Not just remote control like GoToMeeting/PC - but file transfer and stuff too.

If you even remotely (ha, sorry for the pun) need something like this - check it out. As a bonus, this sucker doesn't even have to be INSTALLED - you can one click download/run from the website and execute it without installing.

Did I mention it's totally free for personal use?

    What a crazy deal ...

Just fyi, I explicitely detailed this software a while ago to you right here on these forums but I think you were adamant about logmein (or some other remote access software I forget)

<edit> found it. And yeah I still use it to show my mom thousands of miles away what to do. Great stuff

That thread was dealing with remoting your own PC from another location. Team Viewer is for person to person type remote.

    Still using LogMeIn too
