    Seagate External USB drives loud?

I have a 1TB external USB Seagate drive that I have had for a few months and I have noticed that when it is spinning up/down it makes some loud clicking. I used the Seatools which reported the drive as being fine, however it is loud and makes me nervous to keep important things on it. From what I can find online it seems like this is normal.

Anybody have one of these and have the same clicking going on? It is the silver in color with a Stargate looking LED circle thing on the front.

I got that same drive .... NO CLICKING ... be afraid. Better yet, call Seagate!

    And isn't it Star CASTLE?

Clicking sounds usually point to a bad read right head in the drive. I'd contact Seagate. If it ain't dead it probably will be shortly.

Ya same drive, Star Castle, not gate. I think we even had a discussion about that earlier.

The drive the is still clicking quite loudly sometimes, however it still passes the DST tests with SeaTools which is what Seagate looks at so I am going to have to to just read/write it like crazy for a few hours in hopes that it will fully burn up.
