Price Drops on DSi and DSi XL coming on September 12

Nintendo announced that price drops are coming for DSi and DSi XL on September 12. DSi will go from $169.99 to $149.99 and DSi XL will drop from $189.99 to $169.99.

This is good news for those hoping for a sub-$199 3DS launch, as the drops provide more breathing room between the older models and the forthcoming DS successor. The timing of the price drops seems to support the theory, coming two weeks prior to Nintendo's September 29th press event where they are expected to provide full launch details for 3DS including price and street date.
