    Flare Bought an Xbox 360

Hey guys. I'm interested in finally getting an Xbox 360, but I don't feel comfortable with soldering irons so I'd like buy one that is already modded and ready to play burnt ISOS and XBLA backups (for demonstration purposes only of course!)

Banned from XBLA or otherwise is fine. But preferably one that is not too prone to RROD.

If anybody is looking to upgrade to the slim version or wants to get rid of a banned console let me know. I'll be honest, I don't even know how much a used, hacked 360 goes for these days.

I'm interested in the console plus controller(s) only. No games nor accessories. My brother has a bunch of original games so I'm covered there.

I can get you a banned Xbox 360. Won't do XBLA of course.

What sort of price you looking at?

Question. I've heard stuff about something called Jtag which means you can "demo" XBLA games on a modded 360. Does that not work once you get banned? Or do you mean it won't let one legitimately buy XBLA games?

I'm looking to spend around $150 for one. Not sure if I'm the range or not.

Obviously, never take this console online.

You can probably get a banned one from ebay for $50 or so.....I guess.

I mainly want a media extender, and a way to demo games, boxed and XBLA.

What happens if I get it online (say, by accident?), they can't brick or otherwise make it unusable, can they?

Personally, (if I were in your place) I would buy a banned one for $50 and use that for offline games......can't even use a hard drive with it I understand. Then later buy a real one for everything else. But for the most part I've had enough of modding, cracking, hacking etc. I only really use them for games I buy anyway and there are plenty of other devices for homebrew and streaming, that willl do the job just as well. I no longer feel the need to obtain games to "tryout". Just wait till the price comes down and buy them.

    But maybe that's just me.

You can use the hard drive on a banned 360. MS did try and stop it from being used but that didn't last of course. Matter o' fact the method to fix it was to get the MS Update itself on a usb drive, plug it in the front and run it. Bam.. hard drive fixed. Hilarious.

What he apparently wants is a Jtagged 360.. not just a modded one. Jtags are nice since you can get all the Xbox Live titles free on them. Also you can play Homebrew titles such as emulators (e.g. Mame360). You can also put in a huge hard drive and play all the 360 titles straight off it without a disc. I believe you can also get achievements on it and it will carry over to your account. However yes, you cannot take it online. I have a jtaggable 360 ( an untouched Liteon/Jasper) and do plan on doing it someday.. but the process is a pain.

A basic flashed 360 however is generally very easy to do. and will play burned games and you CAN take onto Live. It's your risk if they eventually figure out a way to detect the flash and ban the console. But to some people it's an acceptable risk for years of basically free gaming. I personally haven't had any problems however.

Exactly, what I want is a Jtagged Xbox 360

I should've clarified what I meant with "demo" XBLA games better

Since most XBLA games are meant to played on XBox Live I don't see the point myself. I looked at some videos on youtube on how to Jtag a 360. You basically have to be a soldering expert to do this hack. I would imagine a Jtagged XBox would be quite pricey considering the amount of work involved.
