Yeah, I'm not a fan of this tactic. Like Womp mentions, Apple needs to simply fix their issue and not concern themselves with what others are doing. The Droid X wasn't on Good Morning America and the Today show for a week straight and didn't sell 1.5 million phones on it's first day. They're not going to be held with the same scrutiny that the iPhone is. That's the position they're in and are screwing this up royally. When consumer reports can't recommend your product because of a reproducible failure, you've got real problem. Unfortunately, Apple execs don't think it's a big enough deal. By doing so, they're not only hurting their customers and their brand, but they're hurting their stockholders.
