    Sigh...

That's a shame, man. I thought we were more than accommodating about rides, etc. We don't do this for anything other than to "hang out" with folks, so I really don't get the attitude, man.

And for the record, it was me who insisted on getting everyone to throw in for the venue by a certain time. Why? Because in the past Shane has been stuck paying the bill for lunch, the venue, etc. when people forgot and left.

    And he never complained.

Shane was taking you to the airport at 10:30 Monday morning. If anything I had to call Shane to tell him to cancel that when Mike told me he was taking you at the last minute.

You have to realize we don't know everyones travel plans, and no one is their personal travel agent for that matter either, unless you personally ask ahead of time about what you need no one can help accommodate everyone.

We didn't know what we were doing Sunday night. At the last minute Shane grabbed us Droid guys to root our phones, Alex drove my brother and I back to the hotel where I grabbed Shane's things from Alex's room to give him Monday morning (including a hairy loofah) and played with some swag a bit. From there my brother crashed and I spent the next half hour packing before going to bed - I was beat and the jet lag had really caught up to me at that point.

All I can say is that we are grown adults here. Even though Shane planned and booked the venue, I got the feeling some people thought he was responsible for their entire travel itinerary, which is absolutely ridiculous.

    May I make a suggestion?

Now that CGE is back on its regular yearly schedule, why not have MAP in Vegas and make it coincide with that expo next year? From what I see in the videos and pictures; the best part about MAP is hanging out and play videogames together. Why not do this at the premiere event for classic games?

It could be CGE during the day; play modern games and camaraderie during the evenings. The one time I went there back in 2005 that's exactly what we did, and it was awesome. Playing Gamecube and C64 in the hotel room was the best part about CGE

I guess hotel might be more expensive, but flights are cheaper, heh.

If MAP was in Vegas i'd so go!

Also I don't see what is funny in someone getting there Car pulled away..
I am curious if your car died - would you have been laughing still.. if a group of people were recording you and obviously laughing. Just saying.. I am curious how you guys would have reacted if placed in the same scenario but different problem.

Yeah ... well ... this pretty much sours me from doing this again.

This year started getting unpleasant from several standpoints. Money is always one of them. Several people missed out on making full contributions to the venue, to the food. People complained about paying for things. People were made uncomfortable - put in uncomfortable situations.

This weekend shouldn't be about politics and fighting to ensure I'm not the one stuck paying for everything or wondering who might get offended by what.

The hotel pissed me off - tried to charge us for two days with NO discount. I about had an apoplexy when the bill arrived in my email. For 20 minutes I drove up screaming like Mel Gibson to myself - with what I was going to say ...

I had fun ... but I'm tired. Exhausted. I love seeing everyone - but I doubt I'll throw this party again. Maybe someone else can throw it and *I* can come and NOT worry about being in the position I am.

I just can't see doing this again - putting out all the cash, time off work, etc. and dealing with politics - no matter how much fun we have for 16 or so hours.

Thanks to everyone that attended - and despite all this - I hope everyone had fun.

Question: Is workNman as much of a downer in person as he is on these forums? I mean, just by the pics (never a smile) looked like a real drain. Jeez....

    Just sayin...

Talk about generation gimmie... I mean, when was the last time you were invited by a friend to the park, bowling or whatever...then after its over, you tell all the other guys that went how the guy who invited (in front of him mind you) you should have done it differently? I dunno man... Thank the man and be done with it. If you didnt like it, keep it to yourself and lesson learned.

Did you even follow what was going on? She broke the rules and paid for it. What was funny was her stupidity and witnessing it first hand.

yeah I got that.. but still isn't funny to see someone who maybe can't read english. Goto another country have the same thing happen to you?

Again just saying.. I like comedy.. but seeing someone suffer isn't funny to me or many people I know.

Sorry to hear that Shane. I support what you are doing.. and would have paid and not complained.
