New iPhone 4 formally announced and shown, nobody cares

    Seriously, does anyone care?

They have multitasking now. And this is pretty much identical to the prototype that was left by some Apple employee in a bar. Forward facing camera. More bashing of flash.

I think the thing that annoys me is that of course HTML5 is a great new technology, but I don't appreciate Apple forcing it down people's throats by lacking Flash support.

Humorously, there was a wifi problem that made it harder for Jobs to show off the new phone. He actually told people in the room to get off their wifi so a signal could get through. Pretty funny.

What do you mean no Flash support??? They finally added a led camera flash!

I have the 3GS and have a year to go on my contract, so I am in no hurry to upgrade, since most of the things I care about will come with the OS update. I do like that they added the front and back camera and HD video recording, but I have a Cybershot HX5 that already takes HD video so I can wait. The faster processor is also a plus. I don't like their newly coined term 'retina display' when 'high resolution' already says it all. Anyway, the upgrades look great but nothing I have to jump on now.

I don't care mainly because I am using a phone that pretty much already has all the features that Stevie tried to make amazing today.

Outside a forward facing camera, a gyroscope and HD video...

    Zzzz.

Even my resolution is barely a hitch off what was shown on it. With the EVO having HDMI out already, over the next few months the iPhone 4 will be obsolete tech wise.

Verizon could announce the iphone next week and I still wouldn't care but it does amaze me how the Apple zombies are lining up already to lap at Steve's tit even when the competition has caught up to him.

And I'm not sure why so many people are so excited about cameras on cell phones anyway. I've had a camera on a cell phone for about 3 years now, and I think I've used mine maybe once. I'd almost rather they didn't come with one and take a bit off the price of the phone.

I mean, I might decide to use it on occasion since it is there, but I wouldn't miss it if it were gone.

I use mine all the time, but then again I also have a soon to be three year old that I like to take pictures of...And what is with my 95% of the time? My Droid.

Case closed on why I like a camera on my phone.

Oh and uh...Workn, the spy cam app will make you love your Incredible cam.

Brilliant! I shall have a look

BTW: Here's a little comparison of the iPhone 4 against Android's best:

The only thing on the iPhone 4 that makes me envious is the battery life...

The whole problem with the new iPhone and Android is the fact that that iPhone most likely won't be changing specs until June 2011. In the meantime there are already a **** ton of Android phones coming out between now and just December that will already make its tech specs 'obsolete'. The EVO has only been out a mere three days and it already pretty much does it by itself.

Once again, the only thing iPhone has going for it is the app store.

What I'd like to know is... will there be an iPod 4 too? That's what I'm looking to buy.

I'm actually quite excited for the iPhone 4, though that's partially due to the fact that I'm still on an iPhone 3G. I can't imagine any features that I'd personally want that it will be missing. It's just a shame that it looks like my wife - who doesn't have an iPhone - is not eligible for an early upgrade like I am (she doesn't qualify until November), as I'd really like to pre-order two 32GB iPhone 4's so we're back on the same phone types again. I guess I'll see soon though if we can.

You are both eligible for an upgrade from what they announced yesterday. "They go on sale June 24th, and AT&T will be giving some extra grace upgrade timing -- up to six months early."

I was really not impressed at all by yesterdays announcement, I think mainly because everything had already been leaked out so it just wasn't that impressive. I would go to an iPhone if they would drop ATT no problem, I think the phone is nice I just can't stand the awful service ATT has in my area.
