Has anyone had prophetic dreams ? Such as seeing a scene in your dream and then it may be days or even weeks later but you actually see the same scene that is in your dream (NOTE the events in the dream don't happen exactly like what happens in real life but it looks and feels the same ). It is like de ja vu and you go 'WOAH' for a second.
I've had that happen MANY times. I heard that "Deja vu" could be attributed to the brain performing a "read/write operation" simultaneously. If you think about it, it kinda makes sense... hmmmm wonder what my damage is...

I have a theory that I've never heard: I presume that people that have "think faster than you interpret" are more prone to this.

    Any thoughts?

Its always funny how the best part of the dream always happens right before that alarm clock goes off.
I know this is old but I feel it's worthy as I have been practicing!

I find that I can influence my dreams if I follow certain rules:

    * Sleep period is short -no more than 45 minutes.

    * Sleep on my back - no idea, but I can function just fine after a 20 minute nap; seemingly no matter how long I've worked prior.

    * Influence the dream in a realistic manner that is consistent with maintaining a certain level of reality. To eager = break the illusion.

For this reason (happens to me too!), I only rest when I am actually tired. I make an exception if I want to ponder something or organize my thoughts without distraction.

Hey, I didn't notice the bit about Lucid Dreaming in this thread, but I did run into this site a couple of months ago:

When I was a Truck Driver I would get about 5 hours a night and 1 hour at work.

    Now I get around 7 a night.

What I did learn though, as a Truck Driver, and I can still do it now, is cat napping.

In the UK, trucks have a tachograph meter which measures your work time, driving time, rest time, speed, distance etc, so legally you have to take set breaks.

After 4 and a half hours driving (solid or in chunks) you have to take 45 minutes off, but you can split it into 3 x 15 minutes.

I used to do that a lot, and now if I get home from work tired, or especially on holiday after laying in the sun all day, I can take a 15 minute nap and wake up feeling great.

On holiday, we'll be getting ready to go out and eat, and my kids will be getting ready and my wife starts to dry her hair or something, and I'll lie on the bed and go to sleep. She'll be like, "What are you doing, we're going out!" but I know I've got 15 minutes to nap, 5 minutes to shower and 5 minutes to get dressed and I'll be ready and waiting outside with the kids by the time she gets done.

Usually over 8hours...and I normally only wake up because I need the toilet. I enjoy a power nap the odd time.

I have the SAME glasses (frame): $50 including the eye 'exam' in Korea. What is up with the "Is this good *snick* is this good *snick*..."? In Korea, the guy had a system that extrapolated my retinal properties and never had to ask me such questions. Just point and click. Point and click. Zero in - call it a day, without me ever saying anything at all.

$50 in Korea seems equal to $300 in the US (2k to 2k+2)- that's what I paid for my last pair despite there being NO difference in my 'persciption'. $50 out the door and no 'view' lost by my lenses and no gain by the cost.

And people wonder why we outsource...
