How much time, on average do you spend Sleeping?

    Just curious.

Me, about 5 hours per day; Be it 8 or 16 hours of work, remains fairly constant.

I typically get 5-6 hours of sleep per night during the week. I try to get more on the weekend.

I really enjoy lucid dreams ( dreams where you know you are in the dream ). In many of my dreams I realize that I am in the dream . From that point on, there are two possible outcomes. You instantly wake up or you stay in that dream and you control the reality of that dream. I feel like I am in a war against time so a lot of the time I wake up at that point. Its always funny how the best part of the dream always happens right before that alarm clock goes off.

I have been looking into "Lucid Dreaming" and I like the idea. Sometimes I CAN control the dream, most of the time I wake up.

Personally, I like the Falling, Flying, Jumping dreams - but I tend to awake - to my ire...!

I know this is old but I feel it's worthy as I have been practicing!

I find that I can influence my dreams if I follow certain rules:

    * Sleep period is short -no more than 45 minutes.

    * Sleep on my back - no idea, but I can function just fine after a 20 minute nap; seemingly no matter how long I've worked prior.

    * Influence the dream in a realistic manner that is consistent with maintaining a certain level of reality. To eager = break the illusion.

For this reason (happens to me too!), I only rest when I am actually tired. I make an exception if I want to ponder something or organize my thoughts without distraction.

Does anyone have nightmares anymore ? I can't really recall the last time I did have one. I have had some SCARY dreams , but now in a lot of those cases I realize I am the one in the dream now and I kick some ass on whatever is threatening me

Has anyone had prophetic dreams ? Such as seeing a scene in your dream and then it may be days or even weeks later but you actually see the same scene that is in your dream (NOTE the events in the dream don't happen exactly like what happens in real life but it looks and feels the same ). It is like de ja vu and you go 'WOAH' for a second.

    My sleep patterns

    On weekdays - Mon-Wed, I sleep 7 hours.
    On weekdays - Thurs-Fri, I micro-sleep 4-5 hours.
On weekends - Sat-Sun, I sleep 10 hours. A nap here and there in the afternoons. I find a good spot in my house and curl up and nap.

I've had that happen MANY times. I heard that "Deja vu" could be attributed to the brain performing a "read/write operation" simultaneously. If you think about it, it kinda makes sense... hmmmm wonder what my damage is...

I have a theory that I've never heard: I presume that people that have "think faster than you interpret" are more prone to this.

    Any thoughts?
