Google released today “Google Earth” into the Android Market place. This application is very much like the desktop version of Google Earth, with zoom from space to any place on earth. The bonus features of the Android application is integration of Google Maps layers, such as Places, Wikipedia, Businesses, Panoramic, Roads, Borders and Labels, and Terrain. Also you can use GPS, to find your direct location, and like in Google Maps you can follow yourself as you walk or drive along. The application itself is only 5.72 MB so be sure to head on over to the market to download, and play with it for yourself. For those of you with 1.5 or 1.6, you won’t see this in the market just yet.
    I love my PS3!

A couple of tools I have been using:

    * Battery Left - detailed battery information and statistics
    * Ring Guard - locks volume to avoid accidentally adjusting it, easily done on droid I find
    * CallFilter - blocks calls from unknown callers/private numbers and your own blacklist (looks promising but I not tested it fully yet)

    free in market

NotCallLog - Will allow you to choose where the phone defaults to after you end a call. Normally it goes to the call log which is annoying since I tend to over click and accidentally dial someone I don't want to. I have mine point to home, which IMO is where it should go anyway.

    DrunkBlocker

Blocks outgoing calls made to contacts. I have a lot of contacts who I receive calls from but never want to call so this app is perfect, I tag them all as blocked and then set the date to block until 2012 and then never have to worry about accidently calling them.

Doesn't support SMS yet but the help refers to this feature and lot of comments requesting so its probably coming soon.

Getting wrong numbers on your Google Voice is a real hoot.

I got one from a debt collector recently who left this big voice mail. At first I was like "WTF?" until I saw that I wasn't the person they were calling for.
