I recently saw a writeup on the MiFi and it did look interesting until I saw the monthly fee and the 5GB cap. I am having a hard time estimating how long it would take to go through 5GB with general web browsing, email, and some occasional streaming but my god that seems like a small amount, especially for $60!

I personally do not have problems with the AT&T data plan - it is rock solid but I am in the same boat as you with voice reliability (although I think it has been better lately). What troubles me with the iPad is you have to pay extra just for the OPTION of using 3G.

Things just got a little complicated, courtesy of a tip from Womp hehe. Apparently Dell will be releasing an Android powered device called the Dell Mini 5--somewhere between a smartphone and an iPad in size. It will feature a 3G sim card slot and supposedly will be one of the 5 Android powered devices AT&T promised for release in the coming months.

Here's a demo of the Safari browser running on an iPad SDK simulator. Not bad!

Not impressed. No different than an iPhone.

Well, Apple. You have me interested. But can you tell me more?

I will be waiting for the next version. In the mean time, any e-reader is becoming more and more interesting to me.

I definitely want an ereader but not sure Apple is the one for me. Strange I haven't heard squat on the Nooks lately. Thought I would since they are Android based.

Full-page web browsing with no squinting, dude. That's a big difference to me.

Then all you're talking about is the size. I'm talking software and interface.

Well, yeah. I think the size is the point for a lot of people as far as iPad is concerned. iPhone is great, but not particularly practical for some applications because of the size.

Wired's Demonstration of Their Magazine in Tablet Form

I Love Magazines. I read The New Yorker, Wired, and Newsweek consistently every week (or month), with other, more niche magazines occasionally thrown in.

To be honest, I am thrilled by the idea of magazines coming to tablets. Wired.com has this awesome video of their magazine in prototype form. To sum up: the tablet version of Wired is designed by Adobe's new program: AIR. You can interact with stories by seeing video, browsing more photos of the subject, and getting a full 360degree view of reviewed projects. To me, it looks amazing.

Alright, well I am having a hard time posting the video directly into this post, so you can follow this link to see the four minute clip.

Man, if I were smart, I would learn how to use AIR. I am betting that in five years there is going to be a big demand.
