On the Boktai series games (the ones with the solar sensors), there were three GBA games that all used the solar sensors and built in clock--Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hands and Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django were released in the US while Boktai 3: Sabata's Counterattack was a Japan only release. All three games were for GBA.
What started out as the fourth game in the series (and the first one for DS) ended up getting scrapped and a new IP was layered over what had already been done before it ended up getting released as a completely different game. That game ended up being Lunar Knights.
It's been said they changed the IP due to the lack of solar sensor on the DS cart, so who knows, Shane's idea about the cameras being used as light sensors could actually become a reality for a future series installment.
The original Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hands is a fun GBA game, btw--highly recommended for GBA fans. The solar stuff doesn't work in emulation though, so you'll need to get your hands on a cart if you want to play hehe.
I have both Boktai 1 and 2 carts. Actually still haven't played 2, never enough time
.
Started playing 1 and had alot of fun with it.
I thought having the solar sensors and having to be actually in the sun was a great concept. My only problem is, I found out I don't like playing out in the sun much.
Every once in a while though, I grab the cart and play a little more. One of these days i'll actually finish it.
