Game Wish List: Sega Game Gear Compilation Disk for PS2 & Gamecube

Here is my Game Wish List if Sega wanted to create a Compilation Disk for
their portable console: The Game Gear.

I've played the Game Gear during my preteen years back in 1990 and I've enjoyed its games, but the battery life sucked since it used SIX AA batteries.

So, I was thinking. Sega released their Sonic Mega Collection, Why not make a compilation dedicating to the Sega Game Gear. Sega must re-create the emulation right as we remember it, the graphics, sound, the whole thing, you know what I mean, It shouldn't look crappy like the Midway's Arcade Treasures.

The "Game Gear Memory Lane" on the Compilation (my wish list)

    (ONLY Available for PS2 - 30 Games
    and Gamecube - 30 Games
and GBA - 10 - Will allow GC to GBA connectivity Games)

(Sorry. Mr. Gates - No Xbox Version.)

On the Disk: The Game Gear Memory Lane

    1.> Columns (PS2, GC, GBA)
2.> Alien Syndrome (PS2, GC, GBA)
3.> Ecco the Dolphin (PS2, GC)
    4.> Earthworm Jim (PS2, GC)
    5.> G-LOC Air Battle (PS2, GC, GBA)
    6.> Gunstar Heroes (PS2, GC)
    7.> Lemmings (PS2, GC, GBA)
    8.> Shinobi (PS2, GC)
    9.> Shinobi 2 (PS2, GC)
    10.> Space Harrier (PS2, GC)
    11.> Psychic World (PS2, GC)
12.> Woody Pop (PS2, GC, GBA)
13.> Streets of Rage (PS2, GC)
    14.> Streets of Rage 2 (PS2, GC)
15.> Revenge of Drancon (PS2, GC, GBA)
    16.> Pengo (PS2, GC, GBA)
    17.> James Pond (PS2, GC)
    18.> James Pond 2 (PS2, GC)
    19.> Cosmic Spacehead (PS2, GC)
    20.> Chuck Rock (PS2, GC)
21.> Baku Baku (PS2, GC, GBA)
    22.> Crash Dummies (PS2, GC)
    23.> Jurassic Park (PS2, GC)
    24.> Wimbledon Tennis (PS2, GC)
25.> Mickey Mouse - Castle of Illusion (PS2, GC)
26.> Fantasy Zone (PS2, GC, GBA)
    27.> Arch Rivals (PS2, GC)
28.> Asterix and the Great Rescue (PS2, GC)
    29.> Strider Returns (PS2, GC)
    30.> Zoop (PS2, GC, GBA)

    PS2|GCN = 30 Games on Disc
Plus on the Disk, It will have Console Artwork, Video on Development of Game Gear, Articles, Interviews with Sega Developers, Linking Options (Gamecube to GBA).

    GBA
on Cart: Will have the 10 Games on Cart plus
Articles and some Game Gear Artwork.

This is just my idea and fantasy, if Sega wanted to create a compilation disc for their beloved portable console.

    Any ideas?

Nice idea but, after seeing what the sonic mega collection GG games were like when they are blown up on a tv im not sure how well it would work. But if they did it on the GBA only then it would be fantastic. Great list of games btw.
"Wonderful innovative titles are 'sometimes' ignored [by consumers], while some repetitive titles with minor improvements in game play and graphics provide much better returns to the games publishers,"

well then....ehh...they just shouldent blow'em to full screen. There are more options involved when you emulate somthing. I got a game gear/sms emu on my dreamcast, and I just adjust the settings so that its about half size for game gear games, and it looks just fine.

What they should have done is use the SMS versions. But none of them, except for Sonic 1, came out in the US or Japan.

As for RetroZelda88's list, you would also be better off using the SMS versions of some of those (Columns, G-LOC, Wimbledon, Jurassic Park, Streets of Rage I/II, Wonder Boy). What I'D like to see is a 20th anniversary disc for the SMS.

By and large every Game Gear game had a better version on either the Master System or the Genesis.

Its one of the reasons the GG failed. Scaled down versions of games fans already own is kinda dumb IMHO.

Nintendo was smart. They released all new exclusive games for the Game Boy.
