I just finally started to listen to your new show and I had to stop and comment on your Game Informer comments. I agree with you 100%. I let my subscription lapse this year due to the outright Wii hatred I see every month in that rag. I have been playing games way before any of the reviewers at GI were even born and I think these guys need to take a look at true game magazines of the past like Next Generation, Electronic Games, Video Games and Computer Entertainment, etc.. for some inspiration. Personally Game Informer to me is probably the worst game magazine I have seen since Gamepro and I hated that magazine with a passion back in the day.

I have noticed a similar hatred of the Wii on XPlay (G4) lately. All they seem to do is slobber over all the latest FPS games on the 360/PS3 and berate the Wii for not having more FPS games. Gaming journalism does not exist anymore in my opinion. The average joe is better suited to review games than the so called "professionals" in my opinion.

Another great show Alex. Listened to it during a (now frequent) 4 hour drive from Dallas to Arkadelphia.

I was waiting for an opinion on Castlevania: Judgment though.

Unfortunately, Wii bashing has become trendy among game journalists--in the case of the G4TV crew it comes across as awkward and forced, as if it's their way of trying to connect with their perceived audience of "hardcore" gamers. I tend to cut Adam Sessler some slack because he does seem to be the most knowledgeable one of the bunch, but I have heard him do it as well.

Olivia Munn is all the proof you need to conclude that G4TV thinks gaming is for the stereotypical young male geek gamer only:

She's kinda like that slutty girl we all knew in high school. Kind of amusing at first, but gets annoying fast.

As I said on the show, I really do believe that big changes are coming once advertisers catch on to changing demographic. You can already see it on (of all places) the pages of GameInformer where Wii games are taking up more and more full page ads. This month, House of the Dead: Overkill is the back cover. How long will Wii games pay the bills at GameInformer while it's editors bury their heads in Resistance 2? I give them until the end of 2009 for a major redesign or even a final issue. Gamestop isn't stupid--they know where the money comes from that fuels the industry.

I guess I'm a glutton for pain, I never got tired of the slutty girl in High School.
