I jailbroke mine the other week and wish I had done so sooner. It's amazing and easy as hell to do. There are so many cool little hacks and tweaks you can do that Apple won't let you in on to really personalize your Touch. Downloading and saving YouTube videos alone made it worth it because now I can keep my son busy with the entire Pixar shorts collection at any time.
Don't worry about Apple "Zapping" you because you can easily drop back to a fresh from the box restore whenever you like. I also already did my wife's as well.
