iTunes to go DRM-Less ... but still will suck

    http://apple.slashdot.org/article.pl...40225&from=rss

So ... iTunes finally pulls in the last cart in the race and will offer DRM-free music.

Now ... offer it without the bloated ass evil iTunes client - and maybe -- just maybe ... I'll care.

Until then ... C'est la vie!

Wait...what is evil about iTunes? I don't have a huge allegiance to it, but it's worked fine for me. I like the way it organizes things.

Hopefully they have a way to convert existing tracks without a fee.

The new pricing model is nice too: $.69, $.99 or $1.29 per song as long as the average price does not become $1.29.

But none of those things have ever been a problem for me. Using iTunes has been fun, I switched to winamp for awhile and that was rather clunky so I switched back.

iTunes is popular - so it must work for someone. Just not me and the millions of people you can find bitching about it with a simple Google search.

I agree with Chris, I've never had a problem with iTunes at all. Maybe it's because I don't have an MP3 player and have never had to go through the whole transfer/syncing process.

Itunes to me is pretty crap since it's such an amazingly HUGE application to do one simple thing and that's: Put mp3's onto my Ipod.

Sure it has other functions like tagging, but I prefer another app for that (mp3 Tag and Rename)

As for it's organizing, I don't know if it's changed as of late, but last I tried Itunes it really didn't like it when you showed it MP3's on removable media. It'd try to catalog them, then look for them again later which was kind of a pain.
