August 10, 1998 -- Retro Radio is born

"Hello folks, and welcome to Retro Radio,
your only Real Audio classic arcade game
    emulation, weekly update.

I'm Shane R. Monroe of Insert Coin,
    welcome to the program.
    "

Happy 10th Anniversary dude! Who would've thunk... 10 years and the show is as great as always.

    Here's for another 10 years.

So many things have changed since then. NeoGeo roms appearing on MAME, The IDSA, friendships and feuds, er... "I hate Nintendo!" LOL.

    I guess it's time to reminisce .

Man, Shane's been doing the show three months longer than I've been married hehe.

Looking forward to the next ten years, man--enjoy this great milestone!

I used to love the video stuff at the time and it is still funny to remember how Real technology was being used too.

Ah, back when Dave's Video Game Classics .... actually was Dave's Video Game Classics.

Congrats on 10 years, Shane. Hell of an achievement!

Shane's Retro and emulation site at the time back in the mid 90's during the heyday of MAME when retro emulation started to really come out of the wood work. It was also when he went by the tag 'Coinster'.

Add Atmospherical heights to the names of sites I used to LOVE in that era.

EmuViews was great too. I remember JoseQ let me do a few retro reviews for his site then as well...

The days when Shane, I and a mess of other guys like NE and sc1 would wait in the IRC channel for the new MAME to drop was good times.

Thanks for all the years of work Shane, even though I haven't often had access to anything before 05. I gotta pick up those sets!

I Though I hate to wax philosophical
The times were exciting, Mame games were just getting started.
Classicgaming.com was awesome and a fun read weekly if not daily.
Ahh that's the feeling that I miss.

Funny that I remember Shane saying that he might only do RGR for 10 years.
    Great job, Keep it retro.
