Thumbs up Wii Minute Radio & Dual Screen Radio now available in Zune Marketplace!

After months of submitting and being snubbed by the folks at Microsoft, Wii Minute Radio and Dual Screen Radio are now available via Microsoft's Zune Marketplace for all you Zune owners out there! Microsoft seems to conduct a rigorous screening and approval process before allowing a show to be included in it's Marketplace offerings, whereas it seems iTunes will approve just about anyone with a compliant RSS feed.

Both shows have already previously been available via iTunes, RSS feed, and direct internet download.

Wii Minute Radio joins The Wire, The Podcast Network's: The Wii Show, & WiiSpot.com's podcast as one of only four audio podcasts dedicated exclusively to the Nintendo Wii on Zune Marketplace.

Dual Screen Radio joins DS Life Podcast as one of only two audio podcasts dedicated exclusively to the Nintendo DS on Zune Marketplace.

    Welcome Zune listeners!

That's great to hear. With so few choices for DS and Wii podcasts we'll hopefully get plenty of new blood here.

Hehehe--I do listen to The Wiire occasionally, but I hear that Wii Minute Radio is pretty good too.

It's pretty cool to have been approved for Zune Marketplace though--by comparison there are literally dozens of Wii shows on iTunes so although they have a larger user base than Zune, I'm hoping the limited choices for Wii shows in Marketplace will bring more listeners. I already get tons of downloads from iTunes but at a certain point brand new subscribers start to thin out.

I always meant to ask you... who's the lady speaking in between segments in Wii Minute Radio?

The Wiire is pretty cool and its usually weekly which is very nice. Drawback: freakin' commercials. Panasonic commercials and Navy commercials. Ugh.

Wii Spot tends to be quite inconsistent and when they do release a show, it's evident that they recorded it like weeks ago because the "news" is often outdated. I can usually take it or leave it. The one guy who hosts the show is nice but he has this Canadian accent and he says "zed" instead of "z" and that just irks me for some reason. They also spend a little too much time advertising other products, alot of attention is paid to doing commercials. The current one is the Blockbuster rental program, whatever Blockbusters equivalent to Netflix is.

WMR is a great show too, the only drawback is that it's also a monthly show. A monthly schedule is okay so long as it (1) keeps relevant and (2) actually releases every month, both of which so far WMR has done a great job with.

I have been feverishly submitting DSR to Zune Marketplace since I got my Zune back in January. Nice to see my efforts finally paid off.

You should hear some of the outtakes we did, lots of fun...I'm still holding onto the "Lusty" version of the DSR intro on my old harddrive. heh.

That will then join RGR's Gary Goldman and Chip Sbrogna interviews as the forbidden audio files of Monroeworld.

That brings me to say, do any of you guys listen to DS life?

I think it's the best DS internet radio show next to DSR.

OT:Womp you got a Zune? Evil bastard. What happened with the nano?
