Those prices are a bit high. I tend to go to newegg.com to get my flash media. Last time I looked I saw an 8 gig one for about about $58 bucks count in the 3 dollar shipping they are having now on them. You are looking at just over 60.00 for the 8gig vs almost 90.00 for the one at realhotstuff.com

As for the CycloDS. I just recently upgraded from the M3 Simply and I got to say its WAY better than the M3. Been checking out some of the homebrew stuff these past few days. I am addicted again to Lemmings DS. I played the crap out of it on the Amiga back in the good old days. And another game (I can't recall the name). Its sort of a board game with support for local wireless and it has an on line leader board.

All in all the CycloDS is really the best way to go.

    ------------------
    Total $140 with shipping

Good deal? Any concerns with the memory card (slowness, other issues) If so, I am ready to purchase.

    Thanks for the help!

    Connx,

Thank you for the advice. I went over to newegg and found these two cards:

    A-DATA 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash - Retail
    Model TurboSD SDHC 16G
    16GB

    $60.00 + $5.99 shipping

    or this one
A-DATA 8GB Micro SDHC Flash Card - Retail
    Model microSD HC 8G
    8GB
    [7] $49.99 + 5.99 shipping

Any advantages/disadvantages to going with either one besides the amount of space? Does the cyclos have a limitation to how much memory it can accept?

    Thank you.

    Chad

Make sure they say Micro. The Standard SD or the Mini SD will not fit.

    That 16 gig isn't a Micro SD.

Ready to add the homebrew software...can you help?

Thanks to Shane for the excellent guide to transferring your DS games to your Cyclos.

Here is what he listed as requirements:
A Nintendo DS and original game cartridge you want to back up
A working DLDI compatible flash cart (R4, CycloDS Evo, etc)
A working wifi connection that you've tried with homebrew software
A working FTP server (we'll be using SmallFTPd on Windows)
The NDS Backup Tool (Wifi) on your flash cart
    Pure text editor (like Notepad)

Can someone provide a link or recommendation to a homebrew program I can use to connect to the wifi?

    Thanks!

To set up the WiFi, you can go into a retail WiFi enabled cart's WiFi menu, and then find the WiFi settings option. Once you have your network linked to the DS, all homenrew/ game backups will use the code saved into your DS. Although there is a homebrew program I think you can use. Let me look around.

Thank you for the help. Being new, I may have it wrong but from what I can tell I need some sort of homebrew wifi connection to set up an FTP between the DS and the homecomputer so I can pull the roms off of my ds carts. Any ideas are much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Well, yeah.
You need to have setup up a connection between your DS and your hotspot at wireless hotspot at home. To do that use this homebrew software:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?pdovfvh9xzb

Then you will need to use a DS FTP program to transfer the NDS cart through your wireless hotspot to the your PC. For that you will need to use this:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?nlzh0m1cgod

You will then have to create an .ini file with all the settings in it. Use this template:

    #
    # NDS_Backup_Tool_Wifi.ini
    #

ServerIP 192.168.0.10 ! FTPd IP address (it's your PC)
ServerPort 21 ! FTPd Service Port (let it like that)
    #FileDir /NDS_Backup ! Home Directory

FTPUser anonymous ! FTPd Logon User name (the user account created previously)
FTPPassword anonymous@anonymous ! FTPd Logon password (the password)

    SaveFile 0 ! Saving size : 0:auto, nnn:Save File Size(KB)

    #Trim ! Rom Triming Backup
Paste that into notepad and fill it in with your details. Then save it as 'NDS_Backup_Tool_Wifi.ini'. Copy the .ini to the root of your microSD card. Youre all set to go.
