CycloDS and the EZ 3 in 1 help.

    Hello everyone.
I just upgraded from my M4 Simply card to the CycloDS and decided to get the 3 in 1 cart not so much for the GBA compatibility but more for the rumble and the memory expansion. This way I can store my originals away and not have the need to switch back and forth between the different carts and games.

I saw Shane's video on how to use the GBA Xploder to activate the cart using the CycloDS but for some reason I do not get the menu that gives me the options to turn on or off the cart. I downloaded the old toolset and that one told me that the cart was not detected. So at first I thought that it was defective. But I did install a GBA game with the Xploder (version .56 I also tried .55) and that worked fine. I downloaded the Beta version for the CycloDS firmware and the rumble kicked in. The browser did not see the ram expansion but after I patched it it worked fine. So I know the cart works. Could I be doing something wrong?

When the Xploder It does gives me the option to change the ram mode and It worked as Shane had on the video. Is there something I am missing?

Im guessing you got the 1.4 Beta 2 release, which has the GBA Loader built in to the CycloDS's GUI. With that, in menu rumble support, and the convenience to simply place a clean dump of the Opera browser and other homebrew (DS Linux, SNEmulDS), you should be set to go with no need for the EXPLoader. (Unless you want to flash a GBA game to the NOR area of the 3in1)

For the GBA games loading from the GUI, simply put all your GBA games in a folder called whatever you want, with the save files in the same folder as the rom. Then just load up the file browser in the CycloDS and select the GBA rom, and it should load it to the PSRAM and auto boot to the game.

Yeah that is what I did. The browser for some reason refused to see the extra ram. I patched it to work. But I found it strange. I know saw somewhere where some people had to patch and others don't. It just irked me to no end that I knew the 3 in 1 was working fine and I could not see it at all on the menu system of the exploder. :-)

Ok...Something isn't clicking for me...What exactly are you having a problem doing now?

What is it you want to do? Turn on and off the cart? What do you mean?

Humor me, for some reason I am not understanding.

The only thing that it does not seem to do is run the unpatched browser. And that the Xploder does not seem to give me the menu to turn on or off the different features in the cart.

For example, if I run xploder it goes traight into the GBA rom manager function (it will move games to the internal memory) but I do not see the option to turn on or off the different features of the card.

I was more frustrated when I first wrote post because I did not know I could get the beta driver for the CycloDS. So I spent a good solid hour trying to get the 3 in 1 card to work with the xploder software (as in Shane's video). Really the Xploder would be nice to be able to control the level of the rumble. As for the browser, while it would be nice not to have the need to patch it, it is not a major issue since the DS browser is only ever used if I am out on the street and I ABSOLUTELY need to check my email or some simple thing.

Once in the GBA manager, press the R trigger to advance to the NOR flash menu and once again to go to the rumble/memory options.
