I'm taking a little break from "new functionality" (aka finishing the tourney stuff) to recoding some of the back end stuff that was ... sloppy.
Right now, I'm converting all the "portal" objects (aka the boxes) on the main Uplink screen into OOP code which allows me to render the suckers in any order I want, with lots of flexibility. This will allow me to offer you guys some control with what you see, and how you see it - plus I can extend the functionality easier.
I'm also shifting around the screen objects, shifting some real estate around, et al.
It won't look a ton different, but it will be FASTER.

Thought you guys might like a little taste of what I'm up to on the test wifi uplink site ...
I reduced the game list width to make more room for the portal objects on the right. I've condensed the information when expanding the game itself and tightened it up.
The two full portal objects (POs) you see displayed are driven from the new PO code. Since these are CREATED on the FLY, instead of being embedded into the page, eventually I can allow you guys to choose both the position, state AND even whether you even want that information displayed at all! Think of it like your own version of iGoogle, or Yahoo portal, but DSR/Uplink centric.
Going away is the slide-away data display. Going back to the more traditional AJAX style pop over -- should be easier on most people.
Anyway, more coming!

Now that I have the in-game editor done for the editing team, my next "minor enhancement" will be the commenting system; it sucks (and blows) and you guys have been very kind to use it ANYWAY.
I'll be fixing the Firefox bug along with adding (finally) a nice, rich HTML editor control (no more writing your own tags heh).
Be warned - the control required a very modern browser (Opera folks, you WILL have to be running the 9.5 beta to use it). Firefox and IE should both work without incident if you have 2.x+ and 7.x+, respectively.
